Top 50 Producers of All Time Day #4

Lets take a look at one of the best to do it from the CPT, DJ Quik, one of the few who does the vocals and the beats for his albums. He's produced 7 of his own albums, 2 from 2nd II None, and album with Kurupt, and he's worked with all sorts of artists from all the coasts.

Top 3 for me.

Quik is definitely top 25.

My favorite producer of all time. IMO he's the best rapping DJ. #1

I understand Dre influenced Quik, but because Quik beats get played probably 20X more than Dre beats in all my stereos, he gets my vote, and Dre does not.

Dre did not influence Quik that much now...he was in the game just a few years rap wise after Dre.

Why all the east coast producers got two or three youtube links and Quik gets one?

I think they influenced each other. I'm sure both were admiring each others work as they were dropping albums simultaneously and they were both successful...especially in a regional aspect.

Hey Kevin maybe if you schooled yourself to the game Dre is the ONLY hiphop producer quik lists as an influence and dre is his biggest influence he says, so shut your stupid country ass up if you dont know what youre speakin on.

Steve I acknowledge Dre was a influence but Quik shit sounds nothing like Dre's, Quik has never mentioned Dre on any of his oplder cd's to my knowledge. I think Quik later in his career started with that Dre shit. Politically correct anyone?

I just started going through Quik's discography, and I've only gone through the 1st three albums, the 1st which I've bunch a shitload of times more than the other 2. Just no too familiar with his work, that's all. Feel free to put up more if you like.
