Just out of curiosity...are there any rappers from the south that aren't gangsta rappers or is that all the south has to offer?

Judging from the nominees, for the most part, they don't seem to exist...

Plus Speech, Cee-Lo, and Andre 3000 have also been voted on. And there are many other southern rappers who aren't gangsta rappers.

You know I really dislike that term gangsta rappers because it is a easy label for harder edged music. I use it a lot because I know most relate to it but most good rappers with the gangsta style in them are so much more than that.

IMO some of the true to heart gangsta rappers with little to no substance in their rhymes ever from the south are:

3-6 Mafia
JT Money
Rap-A-Lot records (except GB, Devin, Z-Ro, few others)
Gangsta Pat
Cash Money
Ganksta NIP
2 Live Crew
Crime Boss
Ghetto Mafia
Pastor Troy
Gucci Mane
Jeezy

I don't really consider most of the people on the list or nominated gangsta rappers....

I feel you SRP but in the sense of the word they are imo because most of their subjuct matter is murder, robbery, dope dealing, and hoes. What are they to you if we had to label them? I know where you are going and I agree that labeling is not fair at times.
