I can see Geto Boys, Outkast, Goodie Mob, Cunninlynguists, 3 6 Mafia, Clipse, Big Tymers, 8Ball & MJG and Hot Boys over UGK to some depending on personal preference

Powell's rankings would be as follows

1. Little Brother
2. Little Brother
3. Little Brother
4. Little Brother
5. Outkast

this is an easy top 5 for me.

Top 10 IMO...

all rank over UGK for me, but they are still a top ten group out of the south easily for me..

Imo Clipse, LB, or 3-6 have no business over UGK.

Clipse and LB obviously not, but 3-6 is valid IMO because they've dropped consistently quality material. How are you mad at that Kev?

Ah, well, in that case...

I know from a geographical standpoint it's in the south, or at least on the borderline, but after living in the south and then living there it didn't really feel like part of the south to me.

Yeah it's one of those states with a mixed identity.

Top 5 for UGK.

Number 4 for me. Only Outkast, Geto Boys, and Little Brother outrank them IMO.

Technically speaking, anything south of Pennsylvania is considered south...

Virginia is quite southern. The domesticated parts of VA are the minority. I've been all over this state and there are parts of it that are just as southern and country as parts of Alabama that I've lived in. If North Carolina is considered south, Virginia should be too. They're practically the same.

I won't even start on West Virginia aka the forgotten state. lol
