To anybody out there jocking Drake

I really could not put my finger on why i'm not buying this hype on Drake but that excerpt just cut the light bulb on for me. Just like how they did Game for example before he even had an album out and he was on covers and shit but he later proved the hype to be worthy to me. Drake just seems like this little cream puff that is getting by one being a "cutie pie" and having major cosigns. But he's not earning shit the hardway imo. Plus he sounds so much like Ye and Weezy it's annoying.

I felt that way about him at first, but his verse on "Forever" impressed me quite a bit. My hate is gradually subsiding. We'll see how this dude and Kudi do album-wise (not sales, the actual album) this year.

i wont be checking for either of their albums anyway so i guess ill never know...nor do i care.

Slang, c'mon man. You should at least check out the new dudes, see what they're about. You can't be that old that you're no longer checking for what people are calling the the next big mc.

like someone else said (mightve been you), Cudi, Drake, Wale all seem like the same person to me and so far none of their songs have really had me wanting to go back and hear more. I mean Day and Nite is decent, but Drake's songs seem strictly for women, and Wale is whatever. We'll see, if people on here big up the albums i may check them

I think Norf made that specific comment (or maybe it was Steve) but while I agree on the whole I will still check out most new guys making noise.

Don't get me wrong, I can't hate on these guys for catching a break. I just have to feel that their content is based solely on market appeal. Every now and then it's OK to make a judgement call without a full investigation.

Norf has been advocating Wale since he put up the Throwback spot, so I'm hesitant to lump him with these dudes. Based totally on Norf's track record, though. I've never gotten around tp listening myself.

And that's exactly what I'm saying Parker, there are some dudes out there who genuinely fit the pop music mold and aren't necessarily sell outs in a traditional sense. I'm just say I'd like to give a these dudes their chance and if they fuck up, hate all you want.

I never figured you for a listener of the pop scene, at all. That's all I was sayin.

I'm not criticizing, though. About 90% of my favorite music has been shat upon all over these threads.

I'm not a Drake fan, but there have been FAR worse MC's blow up, so I think that the story was lame.

They make it sound like he's the wackest MC in the history of the game, and that couldn't be further from the truth. I can think of hundreds of MC's worse.

He is a talented SINGER though, so if he decided to go the R&B route I wouldn't be mad at him.

Im certainly not on Drakes dick in any way shape or form but Ill give it to him that he can rap. However, I still don't really fuck with his music. Everbody in my age bracket is gargling his nuts right now though. I slightly agree with the article though cuz Drake doesn't really sound sincere at all in his songs.
