Top 100 Albums of All Time - Day 5

Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt

It's in my top 50, but it's definitely not my favorite Jay-Z album.

I put it in my top 100 - I'd have to put Vol. 1, Black Album, and Blueprint ahead of it - damn 4 Jay albums in the top 100 seems like a lot...

This is tricky for me because RD would not make my top 100 I don't think but objecively I know its top 100 because of the skill level lyrically and the new style he ushered in with that album. So i'll give it top 75 or so. BP, BA, and Vol. 1 all rank higher for me also SRP.

Jay may have 4 albums in my top 100 too. I honestly play the Black Album more than RD, but i can't find any faults with Rd, and i don't like Change Clothes from BA. That's why RD is slightly higher.

I found faults in RD with every trk between Friend or Foe and Regrets being average to me. They really keep the album from reaching classic.

RD would probably make my top 75

Top 25, Jay's best album hands down IMO.

blueprint smashes this one to me, but it's def a strong 2nd

ill give it top 50, but ive never been able to get into Jay that much. This is by far my favorite album from him though

That's cool. one man's trash is another man's treasure, right? However, I really don't understand how you can be as big of a Biggie fan as you appear, and not like RD more than you do

2nd favorite behind "Blueprint". Top 50.

Co-sign to the fullest. The Blueprint is the model album for the new age of hip hop. It strikes a perfect balance for virtually everyone. Fresh beats, word play and lyricism to keep the purists happy, monster singles, and plenty of mainstream appeal. Blueprint is a top 15 album to me. Probably around #12 to be more exact.

Neither. I've only bumped this album once or twice, and didn't really like much about it. Then again, I can't say I feel any Jay-Z album is great. Personally...

Jay-Z has plenty of consensus classics as well pounds, at least 3 if not 4 or 5.

so dont get all homo when someone says X rapper you like and think has X amount of classics doesnt have any classics or cant put out a great album

He has two to be exact, this and The Blueprint.

The only other one that a case can be made for is The Black Album, but his discog is very strong nonetheless.
