| UGK. I haven't been paying much attention to these polls, how is this process supposed to work, why is everything up against UGK? | |

| I assume the days previous days winner will compete againsta new album every day, and UGK has yet to lose. | |

It's a process of elimination, that's the way Nero had it going, he just asked me to continue it for him.

| I'm definitely a UGK fan, but I gotta say Survival Skills. "4 Life" was basically songs left off of the double self titled album. It's a damn good CD but I like Survival Skills better overall. | |

Indeed. I wouldn't sweat it too much. i can guarantee people are voting against UGK without ever hearing it. People just see KRS' name and automatically assume a tiny little group from Port Arthur couldn't possibly compete with the T'Cha.

UGK by a good margin, any album with Bucky Shot as the star rapper has to lose some points. |

| Fuck the haters, Survival Skills wins!!!
Both albums are among the years best, but SS has more replay value IMO. |

Upset my ass, they weren't favored by much to begin with in this matchup if they were favored at all. |

| They were favored because everybody that's actually heard both prefers UGK, dickhead. |

That's not what the votes said, jackass. Other than Slang, everybody who's been to this thread has heard both albums and Slang didn't vote, so eat a dick! |

| KJ, UGK's been praised by everyone I've talked to, moreso than Survival Skills. I'd call it an upset, too. | |

If it's an upset it's a mild one at best. SS has been praised by everyone I've talked to OUTSIDE of this forum. I like the UGK album as well, it's among my Top 10 for the year but I like SS better. At this time, the only 2009 albums I'd take over SS are The Salvation and maybe Street Hop. |

Yeah, I agree, Buck started off strong but started to get lazy after The Way I Live. Kris brought the heat throughout though.

Hmmm, not sure I agree there. My main problem with this CD is that KRS is not bringing the heat. He still sounds good and all, but not as good as he was sounding on his 2008 releases "Maximum Strength" or "Adventures In Emceein". He sounded more inspired on those IMO. I'd bump those over this pretty much any day. Buckshot is sounding good IMO, but I need the heat from my favorite emcee for me to really like this album a lot.

| I agree it's not one of his better efforts, but he definately shined over Buckshot IMHO.
And yeah, I'd bump Adventures over Skills any day. Just bumped it the other day as a matter of fact at a picnic.

My main problem with this CD is that KRS is not bringing the heat. I disagree with that entirely. While he's not on the level he was 15 years ago, I thought he shined on this album. My fav tracks are Murder 1, One Shot, Robot, Oh Really, and the title track. Buck was dope too but KRS sounded his best since his self titled debut. SS is one of my favs of 09. |

You don't think he sounded better on "Maximum Strength" or "Adventures In Emceein"? I like the one with Marley Marl better too. It's solid, but it's not doing it for me.

I liked Kristyles better than both those albums personally. Maximum Strength was solid but forgettable. Adventures In Emceeing was a 4 star album, but I've got this one at 4.5. |
