| In your opinion.
But you have nothing to refute the facts that as far as sales:
Bone>PE>UGK>BDP
Personally I feel UGK>PE>Bone
and they are all top 10 groups of all time to me.
BDP doesn't even get consideration from me for that. |

BDP doesn't even get consideration from me for that. And that's your opinion as well. Nobody cares about sales though. That doesn't constitute greatness. UGK and Bone aren't Top 10 groups to me. BDP and PE beat them by a mile in terms of quality IMO. |

Is that why more people have bought Bone albums than BDP and PE combined? Because worldwide PE and BDP have all these poor fans who can't afford their albums? Is that your theory? My theory is that KRS-One and Chuck D are on well over 90% of all hip-hop fans' GOAT lists. Nation Of Millions, Criminal Minded, By All Means Necessary, and Fear Of A Black Planet are four of the most critically acclaimed albums of all time. Not to mention the COUNTLESS classic singles by both groups. I don't dislike UGK or Bone, but sales are overrated in judging fans. MC Hammer sold lots of records back in the days, but nobody would say that he's one of the most popular MC's of all time. As far as this forum is concerned, I think it's a case of people not being as familiar with PE and BDP's catalog rather than a popularity issue. After all, KRS-One was the number one rated East Coast rapper on the polls we did a few months back. |

| 50 Million albums worldwide - over a 15 year active career - who are still popular - says otherwise.
That's your problem KJ - you like to qualify your "fans" and goat lists. Among the say - what? 10000-50000 fans who might still buy or download a KRS-ONE album those people will be on more goat lists - but when you take the entire hip-hop nation - the 50 million who buy Bone, Pac, Biggie albums - you will find Bone on their top ten list much more often and those fans count just as much. |

| I never said that they don't count, I'm just saying if your only basis on popularity is sales, then your argument is weak because lots of people rarely or never buy albums.
Even before the internet days, lots of people would buy bootlegs or wait for a friend to buy the album and dub a copy off of them. But that's even moreso the case nowadays.
When it comes to popularity, street cred and critical acclaim mean just as much as sales if not more. |

| I will give more credibility to a a Bone fan that will go out tomorrow and purchase their latest CD than to some bum on the street you won't pay 10 bucks for the latest KRS-ONE CD. Plain and simple.
But even following your theory I bet there are exponentionally more people downloading BONE albums illegally then KRS One albums. Popularity = sales.
Street cred and critical acclaim are a separate thing and they don't say squat if no one supports or buys into it. |

Street cred and critical acclaim are a separate thing and they don't say squat if no one supports or buys into it. All I know is that a lot more people are saying that KRS-One is the greatest rapper of all time, than people saying that Bone is the greatest group of all time. In fact, I don't know anybody saying the latter. That's definitely popularity. Criminal Minded and BAMN are far more criticially acclaimed than any BTH album, and most fans that have heard both will tell you the same. Sales are overrated, and this decade especially proves that theory. Whether or not Bone has more illegal downloads than KRS is debatable. As for this forum, I think it's a case with people being more familiar with Bone and UGK's catalog than BDP and PE's catalogs moreso than popularity. KRS finished number one among East Coast rappers in the polls, which is the strongest region in hip-hop. |
