Tech N9ne vs. Rae

Tech rather easily IMO. Rae is dope, but it has not sustained much replay value to me. If i want to hear an album like, I'll just plop in the original and be satisfied. Tech has sustained replay value, and my rating has actually gone up for the album.

Both of these albums are sub-par......

Rae wins quite easily for me, Tech can't hold down a full ablum imo.

Most people have a hard time holding down ablums, but IMO Tech does a decent job holding down an album

You don't think Anghellic or Absolute Power were held down all throughout?

I think it Tech style that wears on me, I like the fast/quick rap style but I don't luv it. After so many trks of the same rhyme cadence with that style it loses my attention or starts sounding bland.

Man I remember when I bought Anghellic when it 1st dropped because I liked the song he had on the Gang Related soundtrk. Then I saw the dope original cover and scooped it up fast. Got home played it and regreted buying it. I tried to listen to it again and it got worst so I sold it back to the store used. I never heard AP but I did kinda digged Everready.

I actually prefer Absolute Power over Anghellic, you should give it a download at least, its definitely worth a listen.

this is the matchup of the year for me so far and Rae BARELY wins

King of Darkness easily... and smh at the chi-town guy who doesn't like speed rap. Tech N9ne easily holds down each and every album.

Still don't get the hate for Cuban Linx 2. Anyways, put me down for Rae.

Yeah, there is not hate... just astonishment at how many people think a repetitive, cliche album is AOTY... it's like you guys are the underground equivalent of pop boppers... just eating up whatever you get fed.

I don't think OB4CL2 is album of the year, but it's better than K.O.D.

K.O.D. for me. Take away the skits, and that album is at least 4.5, IMO

Again, where do you derive hate from what people are saying? how is saying saying it's overrated equate to hate?

Clearly, the people that vote for Rae don't feel the same way about the album as you. I agree with Terry about the replay value, but it's basically the same theory that one applies when they actually praise BP3 when the downgrade there is a lot easier to spot.

Yep.

I have Rae and Rino rated the same, and neither of them is AOTY IMO, but I like the standouts on Purple Tape 2 a bit more than on Solitary Confinement, that's why I chose it.

Purple Tape 2 beats King Of Darkness easily though, and yes I've heard the album.
