While I wholly disagree with his list, you can definitely see where his head is at these days.

His list wasn't bad. I co-sign Slang, of course he's gonna pick NY artists cuz that's where he's from and who he works with mostly.
While I don't agree with Poet being the best, it's still a dope album. It was cool to see Oasis and A&E in his Top 5.

Listing the album you produced and released on your label as #1 is kind of dickish. Other than that, the list is packed with albums I think are average, but it doesn't surprise me considering his tastes.

Umm Jason why is listing the album HE produced as number one "kinda dickish"??? he's giving himself props..what's wrong with that??? you must have some low self esteem or something to not understand where he's going with that comment...
and then you add in your comment "considering his tastes" what does that mean?? Preemo is a fuckin hip-hop legend so I'm damn sure going to respect his tastes even if I don't fully agree with everything he may or may not have on his list...just because Silver Jews' biggest fan thinks that DJ PREMIER'S top rankings for 2009 are average means what???
yo man some of you dudes on here are straight CRAZY! LMAO!

It's shameless self promotion. Of course he should think his own work is great, but it doesn't hurt to be a little humble. That's all.

It means that I think many of the albums on the list are average. Him liking them so much has no effect on what I think of them, and that's what I think of them. As far as his tastes, it seems like almost all of the albums on the list call back directly to that early to mid 90s NY scene he was a part of (in sound and/or artists involved), which makes perfect sense. So, the list doesn't surprise me.
