LOL, that would have been cool, just as long as we didn't do them at the same time. Have you ever seen You Can't Do That on TV?? That shit was the BOMB back in the days. Yeah the Law & Order is the original, but I'd take CSI over all three of them. |

Both shows are all time favs for me, I give YCDTOTV the slight edge though because of it's originality and basically putting Nickelodeon on the map. |

Never heard of it. I guess I normally tune out when a commercial for a typical cop/investigation show comes on.

Well, for some reason it never received the attention and praise it deserved. maybe it was overshadowed on HBO by The Sopranos, but it's a remarkably epic show. You should rent the first season at least.

LOL...you must be joking. It's all the same damn show. Same set-up, same series of events, same boring ass writing. Even shows within the same series are virtually identical from show to show. Shit is lame IMO. Of course there are some original cop shows out there, but I'm only speaking of the vast majority.

Exactly. Don't get me wrong. I've liked a number of cop dramas in the past, but I personally can't watch hardly any of these newer ones. The Wire does sound interesting though...

The Shield and The Wire are on a whole other level. They were completely innovative. I wanted to match the Shield up, but you and I seem to be the only people in here that have seen it. The network shows have been spun off so many times that they look similar. They're still good though. |

Also SMH @ Pounds. All cop shows are NOT the same. Not even close! The only depressing show was where Florida's husband was killed in that tragic car accident when he was on the way to Mississippi to accept a job as a partner in a Garage and to make a better life for his family. That's the episode where Florida says her famous line: "Damn, damn, DAMN!". Or maybe she just says that because her name is Florida. Who would name thier child Florida? Florida's a state.

| Yeah, those series can be time consuming. I was unemployed a few years ago, and i went through The Sopranos in about a month so i could be caught up in time for the start of Season 6B. You should definitely finish The Wire. A lot of people cite Season 2(the season where McNulty is part of the Harbor patrol) as the weakest, but i personally loved it. It solidified the fact that The Wire was more than just your typical cop show. | |

Well yeah that sucked, John Amos (who played James) was an excellent actor and I didn't like the fact that the producers got rid of him. The show kinda jumped the shark after that, but it was still a great show which featured the acting debut of Janet Jackson |

| Good Times was depressing and their hopes were constantly getting dashed. Remember episode where the youngest son writes to Castro and it ends with them wondering if they are being watched because of it. Or when JJ almost got arrested but hid in a closet when the cops hit.
They were in a series of shitty situations from what I remember. They always ended up right back where they started. That is depressing since where they started was in the hood and the knowledge they gained was a further reminder of how shitty it was.
