And Jeff, it's kinda lame for you to single out Powell like that, because as I just proved he's not the only person that's gonna neither this album, and they'll be more that do so after me.

I realize that some of the topics/song titles are derivative, Jason, but the quality of the music more than makes up for it IMO. Also, he doesn't beat-jack and only bites lyrics once (although it is the first lines on the first song of the damn album).

I'm not saying it's a bad album, but top 100 is elite company. This Royce's best work, but I don't think it is so exceptional that it can make it on those merits alone. This came out in '04, and just that year I'd put The Grind Date, Joyful Rebellion, A Long Hot Summer, Connected, Madvillainy, and The Soul Machine over it, and probably only two of those would make my top 100.

On the fence on this one. I love the album but when you think about top 100 over 25 years of hip hop albums, that's only an average of 4 albums per year. I just don't know if "Death Is Certain" belongs in my top 100. Let's just say this, it's not a slam dunk.

Neither album is in my Top 100, but I agree that Street Hop is better than this album.
