1st Quarter of 2010 Summary

Alright, I'm a little late with this as we're already almost a full month into the second quarter, but where were you standings at the beginning of April?

The obvious standouts were Brotha Lynch Hung and Freeway/Jake One.

But what is everybody anticipating? How is everybody feeling about the year so far? What do you think won't drop? Let's get some goddamn discussion going, people.

I am looking forward to some hood music... like trae and z-ro

So far i don't really have alot of complaints about 2010. I've actually bought 9 albums for the year and i'm not really disappointed by any of them. #10 tomorrow with the Cypress Hill album.

Album of the year to this point-Brotha Lynch Hung "Dinner and a Movie"-Love everything about this album. Can't wait for Coat Hanga Strangla.

Most surprising-probably the Freeway/Jake One. I wasnt' sure what that was going to be like but it easily surpassed my expectations and will most likely stay in my top 5-10 all year.

Best albums that won't sell 10,000 copies:

Yu "Before Taxes"-Dope album from DD member. Coming in at about a 3.75-4.0.

EuloRhythmics "Green St."-Just what you would expect. Coming in at 4.25 for me.


Left me wanting more: "Wu Massacre"

Darkhorse of the year: Strong Arm Steady "Stoney Jackson". It's dropped a little for me but still a very solid album.

Most disappointing: Little Brother "Leftback". It's a solid album no doubt and people should check it out. Just a few things that disappointed me about it.

Bone is still saying May 4th, for the record, also I posted a release date for Kill Devil Hills.

Happy to hear the info on the Bone album. I've been waiting for that one for a long time. Reason i asked is because Amazon says Dec. 31, 2010.
