I own a EPMD album, wasn't really feeling it, so I never got that urge to peep out more of their albums. Hence why I said I don't want it either. If people want to give me shit for it, fine. I don't care. I at least gave them a fair shot. And no, Hawks will take it tonight. The will adjust...hopefully...lol. If you see them bringing Jason Collins in the game, the Hawks are in major trouble, dude is wack as hell...lol

And the album that I do own from them included a greatest hits album, so that's why I said I gave them a fair shot. I listened to their greatest work, but it just wasn't for me.

uh, unless the album you own is Strictly Business or Unfinished Business, i wouldn't say you've given them a fair shot. To each their own though

While that hits disc is better than most hits cd's, Greatest hits albums suck and rarely offer any insight into how great an album can actually be.

But I wasn't feeling any of the songs on the greatest hits album. No point in digging deeper if I didn't dig their greatest hits.

Tran don't trip their best songs for the mostest part was on that greatest hits cd. I like EPMD but album wise they have always been above average. They have some strong as singles though. You gave them a shot didn't dig it so fuck it.

Yes I would my peoples. If he checked out the GB's best songs and did not feel them I would not waste much time trying to rec him albums. But that is not a good match up because Epmd is a strong single driven grp where GB is not.

It is true that EPMD's singles are more successful, but that doesn't mean their album tracks were of lesser quality. Don't you think it's foolish to judge an album based on singles? I mean when a song is listened to in the the context of an album it has a different feel to it.

Yes I do think it is kind of foolish to judge albums on singles. But not foolish to make decisions on whether or not you like the artist or not. Especially if you heard their "best" songs and still not vibing with the artist I think thats all good imo.
