Album Of The 00's Day 70 (Finals)

There really seems to not be any more albums with a chance of taking The Fix out. So I will now nominate the albums with the longest streaks for one big bash. This poll will run for 2 days.

hmm, it is between Supreme Clientele and the MMLP. i will have to think about this one.

if Warriorz by MOP was never nominated in these album of 00's threads, that is an abomination....

was Madvillainny even nominated? Champion Sound? Petestrumentals? MM...Food? BTNHResurrection?

Stillmatic gets my vote but The Fix, Supreme C, and Black Album could easily slide in also.

Ghostface wins. Below the Heavens is my favorite underground album of the decade though.

People Under The Stairs - O.S.T. is probably my favorite from the decade, but from that list I'll vote Supreme Clientele.

you dont necessarily know that, i think a lot of people would have voted for Madvillain or Champion Sound over it

Stillmatic wins, and would win for me even if Blueprint was up there.

And to Slang, Supreme Clientele lost to the Fix even with your absentee vote. So if that couldn't beat The Fix, those albums wouldn't have either.

hmm I really need to think about this pick because I feel a southern artist should win this award (album of 00's), so it would be between The Fix and Stillmatic from this list and I'm not sure which way I want to go yet!

thats true Tranny but I'm trying to be fair and objective as well when I'm voting..if an east coast artist won album of the year for the 00's that would just seem a little odd to me man

now for album of the year for the 80's and 90's then thats different but 00's was owned by the South (hence the weakest decade in hip-hop history) but at least a credible southern artist with a very bangin album and whom I respect alot is left standing at the end of this and thats where my dilemma lies...because I love Stillmatic by Nas...shit The Lost Tapes would have a good chance of being voted on by me to if it was here.....

I do like Below The Heavens. But it has dropped from the 5 star mark since it's release IMO. I give it 4.5 stars. I can't knowingly give it "album of 2000s". lol

Edit: I should have said "personal" classic. I can see a couple being objective classics.

To me, the 2000s are ALL about the underground. If it were the 90s, it'd be completely different.

While I do see some classics on that list and disagree with you on that front, I do agree that the 2000's were largely about the underground, which is why it's the WEAKEST decade.

I agree with you on Reflection Eternal/Train Of Thought, Deltron 3030, Masters Of The Universe, and SONOGRAM. Those three are easily among the best of the decade.

What about Quality Control though? Doesn't that make your list too? It damn sure makes mine, and it sucks that we're two of the very few J5 fans here.

Surprised by some of the weak choices up there. I'll go with Supreme Clientele. Madvillainy would be my number 1 for the 00's but it didn't even get nominated. I'm seriously shocked that Be and Stillmatic are up there.

I like Doom, and Madvillany is better than Be, but I'd take Common's Resurrection and LWFC over any Doom album, and One Day over all but Madvillany and Vaudeville Villian.
