First Degree the D.E....where to start?

from what ive gathered "Damn that D.E." is the album to start with?

man, first degree is not an easy man to get into. Like he's far off from even the craziest shit, but I guess you could tell as much from DAAM. First Degree ranges from the insanely dope to the insanely wack and in a way I would compare him to Kool Keith, but Keith's highs and albums tend to be a lot more consistent. At worst, Degree is real crazy and dope mood music, the shit just takes you to another place sometimes.

My recommendation would be Planet Zero just because I think that captures his many sides the best.

I probably like him most when he's featuring, but if you like Loaded then I agree with SRP, Planet Zero is possibly the best place to start. His album before that, Southbound, was a lot more gangsta style but it is where you can see the more mild versions of his wierdness before it really took off in the years after.
