Masta Killa is the least memorable and least important Wu MC

From Masta Killa, I would say his verses on Da Mystery Of Chessboxin, Snakes, Triumph, Assassination Day, Wu-Gambinos, and Winter Warz immediately come to mind. For U-God, Knuckleheadz, Da Mystery Of Chessboxin, Black Jesus, Triumph, those come to mind.

Now, I do agree that he has a lot of crazy verses, no doubt about that, but lyrically, I feel Masta is better.

That is one of his best verses, and while I'm at it, I can offer some friendly competition in the form of Masta's verse from "Snakes":
Do the knowledge to a bunny named Trigga Bad rude boy from the land of Jamaica With visions to venture, to the U.S. To receive the gold that he couldn't acheive in his country, even though he sold mad weed for the next man, who was the Don of the clan Niggaz actin like they got the block locked Like I can't sling drug raps and eat food But I be the rudest, bad boy steppin gun totin Shots lash out like a violent explosion at the bunny, who tries to stop my production Intervene the scene and slow up the CREAM None of that black, East New York, gun talk Niggaz I extort from Baltic to Boardwalk Memories of injuries wounds and burns Walkin through the streets of Medina I stand firm Cause I know this, which means I can hold mine down without a doubt, niggaz who front, get snuffed out Justice must be born there's no escape cause a snake can't be reformed so I wait Comin in the name to proclaim your fame for protection and you don't know no fuckin lessons?

Masta Killa for the most part is more my speed. While he does not have a attention grabbing voice, flow, or personality his wordplay and almost spoken word delivery works. He seems to know his role well and does a good job of not over playing his natural boundaries.

I agree. I'd say they're about even, in my opinion. Though U-God is probably a little more memorable because he has a distinct voice, and usually leaves me with the "what the hell is he talking about?" feeling.
Some U-God verses I like, that never seem to get mentioned.
Cypress Hill - Killa Hill Ni**as SWV - Anything (remix) -- though this one is rather short
I'll give U-God a slight edge.

Umm...am I missing something? There is a reason Masta Killa is the least featured rapper on Wu-Tang Group albums. There is a reason he is the ONLY Wu-Tang rapper to not get a solo in the 90's. There is a reason he is the lowest selling Wu rapper of the whole nine. Am I missing something here?

I don't agree with any of that. U-God sounds good when rhymin with Wu-Tang, but he's wack on his own. The reason MK is the most under the radar MC is because he was the last one to join the group, not because he's the least talented. I haven't been impressed with anything U-God has spit solo. Masta Killa's has rarely if ever spit a wack verse, so for me he gets the win.

As far as I'm concerned both of these emcees outside of Cappadonna are 2 of the weakest emcees in the entire WU, so I'm inclined to say neither but lyrically I think Masta "Slang" Killa is just a little bit better than U-God overall, although I think U-God has the better voice...so I'll go with "Slang" on this one

i think basing it on who has the best solo album might be the single DUMBEST way to determine who the better MC is, lmfao. I cosign Steve completely in this thread. On group albums U-God is absolutely destroying Masta Killa.
basing it on the solo album logic would mean that:
1) Master P is a better MC than Bun B since he has a more consensus better solo album
2) people would argue that No Way Out is better than any Canibus album, so hmm lets see that must make Puff Daddy the better MC than Canibus, strike 2
3) Enta Da Stage is better than any solo album by Sean Price, so hmm Buckshot must be the better MC, strike 3
thats the dumbest argument ive ever seen

I prefer Masta Killa myself. To me he always seemed like a lesser GZA. I could've gone either way at one point but MK's solos are superior. That was the tie breaker for me.
I understand what you're saying Slang but you also have to hold those lackluster solos by U-God against him.

lackluster solos?
Golden Arms Redemption and Dopium are 4 star albums to me, GAR is closer to 4.25, Mr. Xcitement is wack but if you're comparing their 2 best, then you only look at those 2 since MK only has 2 solos
No Said Date is like 4.5 but Made in Brooklyn is only about 3.5-3.75
i dont really see a big gap there, i spn GAR just as much as No Said Date and they are both top 20 Wu albums to me. and in terms of the MC's on their respective solos, U-God shows more versatility especially in the storytelling department.
also, if U-God is better in most categories of MCing then he is the better mc.
theres a reason he has his own hat, lmao

GAR was one of the most poorly received albums ever... it is very average to me. When you compare two emcees with limited bodies of work, the one with the best solo is the logical choice as the better one IMO. Masta Killa easily.

I heard GAR and it didn't do nothing for me. It was the first wu-solo to disappoint me. No Said Date is the number 4 premiere wu-solo for me. (1-3): Liquid Swords, Cuban Linx, Ironman. I heard Dopium was good so I'll give that one a shot but you can have Mr. Xcitement. Maybe I'll give GAR another chance one day. But I hope that gives you a better understanding of my perspective.
