Sun Rises in the East in a BLOWOUT!

Criminal Minded is one of my favorite albums ever, but the production has always been the biggest point of contention. The Sun Rises In The East's production is flawless, and it wins this match up.

Precisely my thoughts, Terry.

I don't like Jeru, but those beats were top notch.

As much as I love Premier, I had to go with Criminal Minded in this matchup because the beats on that album are still being sampled today.

Just like Raising Hell, when your shit is still being sampled decades later, that means it's TIMELESS and that speaks volumes about your production.

Except the production on Raising Hell was still ahead of Criminal Minded even though it was released a year earlier. Criminal Minded may still be sampled today, but the production sounded ancient even for 1987. Don't get me wrong, KRS is my GOAT, but he went on to create better beats himself IMO.

I understand what you're saying Pounds, but it was still DOPE production nonetheless, and the fact that it's still sampled today is proof of that. I think Scott LaRock would have gone on to become a GOAT producer if he were still alive today.

I remember telling Cory that he was stupid by saying that Scarface wasn't worthy of the Top 100, but that's pretty much certain, and you know that me and him are like oil and water anyway.

Criminal Minded by a hair...the beat for The Bridge Is Over is better than anything on The Sun Rises In The East IMO..

but that was very strong work by Preemo although his best work would come a year later on Group Home-Livin' Proof

I personally thought Primo's best work was on Gangstarr's Hard To Earn, but I co-sign the rest of what you said.

My vote is for Jeru. Premier hooked him up with some of his best beats and created a classic.
