I hold Black Thought's work over Jay-Z's in every way. And, I think if he were to do an album without The Roots I have no doubt it would smash everything he's done since TFA...he's been the best thing about that clique for a long time now.

He's just better at what they do...I don't understand how more don't see it.

I agree with everything you said above though. Jay is hit or miss, BT is more consistent and a better lyricist IMO. Even without ?uestlove and the gang he'd be dope.

Black Thought is a str8 up and down rappers rapper. Nothing is wrong with that and he's good-great at it but he has no personality. He just kind of blends with the trks.

I don't think you've listened to enough Black Thought because what you said is completely false. He's very versatile and deep. He's a thinking man's MC and has plenty of personality.
