I need to get familiar with Jeru's work. Is this album pretty much his consensus masterpiece? I think I have a different album of his, but didn't spend much time on it.

Cop that album Parker, it's a must have. You probably have Wrath Of The Math. That album is good too but Sun Rises is indeed his consensus masterpiece.
