Jay is top 3 of all time on my list. He has flow, voice, rhyme style, lyrics, and soooo many classic songs. I know he get's a lot of over exposure and over rating so I get why deep inside its easy to dislike him or want to find flaws in him. But he will go down as one of the greats period.

Shaun I didn't know you liked BP3 like that.

Yeah, BP3 was definitely a surprise to me. Take out a couple of tracks, and it's one of his best IMO

I'm not trying to stir up the Jay-Z fan club. We've been through that enough. I'm just wondering how come none of you are interested in the American Monsta RAVAGE remix? I know if anyone remixed one of Redman's albums (or pretty much any album I think is 4 stars or better) I'd be all over that shit.

I like American Gangster, but I think it is a bit overrated and boring at times. Add that to the fact I feel remix albums got way played out and I passed on every AG remix album out... I heard the Nujabes one, wasn't bad, wasn't great.

Might be a tad generous in my rating for Vol. 1. I've heard several songs from Vol. 3, and didn't dig em at all. Vol. 2 pretty much turned me off, and I find other stuff to occupy my eardrums.

Not that I agree with all of Powell's ratings (he may be the only person alive who likes BP3 more than BP1) but he did give Reasonable Doubt and American Gangster 5 stars.

I only give two of his albums 5 stars as well, but I rate all but three of them at 4 stars or better.
