My Opinion Remix

Okay i'm thinking we can make this a ongoing thread like the Recent Purchase and so on threads.

Basically this thread will be for albums, artists, songs, or whatever that you have changed your opinion or view about. Maybe something got better, worst, or surprised you. Than later later you can comeback and reference what you said about it if it changes again.

Frist album I want to change my opinion on is:

Wu-Massacre



My expectations are finally gone now. I was originally kind of disappointed in this album. I rated it a 3.25-3.5 and omitted forom by best of 2010 Amazon list. I actually stopped listening to it. So after some months of not hearing it I listened to it today. And it sounds much better and even fresher. While it's still not the album I think they could have really put together. And I still feel it is too short. I must say its a real solid album. So I can now say its a 3.75-4.0 easily. I will be adding back to the amaon list. And it will rank in my top 20 for 2010.

Yeah I don't understand the hate for this album. Sure it was short and felt like an EP but there wasn't any wackness on it. I've got it at 4-4.25 stars.

This one has moved up in props after I finally awhile back gave it a full listen. I listened sampled it one time after I bought it and remember thinking why did I buy this shit. But even in Puba's absence Jamar and Sadat held it down. Puba is obviously the outstanding personality in their grp but they wrote this album with their own movement. So I want to renig on the average comments I gave this album. Its a soild one.

I strongly agree with both picks above. I'll add Krs-One/Buckshot "Survival Skills". I wasn't crazy about it when it was new but i just spun it the other day and it sounded alot better than i remembered.

When this album firsty dropped, I thought it was straight trash. I was diggin Project Windows and that was it. Years later I have rediscovered this album as a true gem. I can no longer even remember what I thought was wack about it, I just knew that it was no where near as good I Am. I now enjoy this album a lot and have it at a solid 4.0, which is actually the same rating I give I Am.

Good pick Wand. My opinion of that album has never changed. I think it gets unfairly picked on. Its better than Streets D. Disc 2 to me. So at least its not his worst...lol. I think expectations killed this album like so many decent albums fall victim too.

I'd give Nastradamus a 3.75 or so easily. It just does not have as much replay value as some of his other albums.

this one is 5 stars easily IMO.....this one and the debut are 5 star material

I my opinion about JusAllah's solo album All Fates Have Changed well, has changed. I always thought this was a dope album but now Im feeling it may be a classic LP and better than all the Jedi Mind Trick albums

I thought this was pretty weak the first few times I listened to it. I would say it's easily a 4 star album these days.

I remembered when I first copped this, I hated this album, hated the dude's voice. Flash forward to earlier this year, and I gave this album another spin. Dude's voice has grown on me now, and his flow is viscous! The beats are stellar. If it weren't for a few boring song, I would rate this as a Tran's classic.

I really need to cop the Madlib remix version of the Perseverance album.

Haven't heard anyone mention that album (Percee P) in a looong time. A decent amount of folks praised it when it 1st dropped.

I think you'll dig this if you haven't heard this yet, Kev. It might take a minute to get use to his voice though.

I agree that Nastradamus isn't the coaster that some people claim it is. People talk about it like it's the worst rap album ever. It wasn't even the worst rap album released in 1999, let alone ever. I consider it a disappointment, but it's got it's moments. 3.25-3.5 stars.

In God We Trust by Brand Nubian is 4.5 stars, great album but a step below One For All IMO. If Puba were on it, and it had the Punks Jump Up remix then I'd probably rate it a classic.

Nah I gave up for the moment. I'm on my phone now, so I can't really fuck with it. Annoying...

While not a huge change in opinion, I have grown to like disc 2 more than disc 1 on AOTEM. Disc 2 is near flawless to me.

This was just too different for me when i first got it, but after repeated spins, it really grew on me over time.

I really didn't like this album at first, but it's just lately gotten a lot better to me.

I originally stated that this album was better than most are giving it credit for. But now it has got even better than that. It is in my top 15-20 easily for 2010. KRS is in good form and his comfort zone through out most of the album. There are some medicore spots lyrically no doubt but he seems energetic or motivated more so on this one.

4.0 as of now.

I was disappointed in this one when I first got it. Stopped puting it in rotation for a good minute also. Well maybe some time early last year it I finally played it again. And what prompted this was certain songs coming up in my ipod on shuffle. I must say it sounded better. As usual I think my expectations finally died down and left. Its a good album. I its there 4th best album but no slouch at all.

Can't remember what I was rating it back then but it has moved up some in my book.

KRob, I haven't heard Nappy's newest album. Is R. Profit back with the group? I read something somewhere that made it sound like he may be. Nappy with no Profit just doesn't seem right to me.

Naw he's not back. I kinda missed him also. Thats why I was hesitant to buy that Humdinger album. But they have done a good job moving on without him. There latest album especially, that one is just as godd as the 1st two. Humdinger is a tad unbalanced but still decent.
