I've only heard the first 4 tracks from The Blood Doctrine, so not enough K-Rino to vote. I do know that unless the rest of the album is drastically different, it won't live up to all the hype that everyone in this forum gives it (or him, or whatever).

See Mys, thats why I try my best to not over hype Rino. Because folks go in waiting to hear God on the mic and always get disappointed or feel cheated. Wish you could have went in without much fanfare. Blood Doc is not his best album though. And I have always been more of a fan of certain lyrics, songs, and subject matter from him more so than his whole albums.
Anyway, Rino wins easily.

Nope. I haven't heard anything either. You?
And did you ever listen to the Mikk Halsted?

It's no big deal. I think he's good, and it's not a bad album by any means. I'm actually enjoying it, but I fail to see how he garnered all this hype. Maybe I'll peep another album sometime, but I don't know if that will change anything. Time will tell, I guess.
And that song is good, but I guess I'm not most heads.

This one right here is the one that always gets me. This was literally my intro to K-Rino as a solo artist. This shit had me hooked from the get go.

i don't order directly from K-Rino. he didn't do me wrong with Solitary Confinement, but it wasn't an experience I want to do again. I waited until Sosouth had it. i should have mine Tuesday or Wednesday.
I dled that Halsted, but i haven't converted it yet.

How much did sosouth have it for?
And when I usually order from him it comes pretty quick. Hopefully it'll be here next week.

I'll probably get shit for this, but that song I'd put on par with Canibus. And I like Canibus, so that's not a bad thing to me. Guess I'll have to dig a little deeper at some point.

it was $12.50 from them, but they weren't charging $5 for shipping either so it was virtually the same price.

You can blame SRP for that. He goes crazy over Rino like a sissy over a bag of dicks. He's gone now though so Shaun and to a lesser extent Terry are the only Rino stans left in the forum.

My sentiments exactly.. I do own BD and SC, but like Myestro I went in with some high hopes and felt a little underwhelmed. I do appreciate his rhyme skiills and the way he composes his songs and concepts, but if i had to pick between Grimm and Rino it would be Grimm.
Peace

I was first exposed to Rino back in 91-92. And I was not a fan just off first impressions. I knew there was something special about him but nothing that really interested me much at the time. I had a friend though who did become a fan of him and at every turn he would bring up Rino quotes and play Stories From The Black Book like crazy. Well I of course eventually I became more interested in Rino since everytime I rode with him that tape was playing. Every since then I have got every Rino solo album.
I said that to say this. Rino is someone that I ended up digging a lot but over time. His music is a lot to swallow at times especially when you factor in his album output. But over time the man moved into my top 10. A lot of the other guys on this forum just got into Rino this decade. So he's still fresh to them in a way. And just like my friend who use to talk about Rino like he was God almighty some of them have caught that bug it seems also. Not saying their opinion is invalid but some do take it over board. But on the real though Rino is one of the best to ever do it. Word for word he may be the best rapper ever. If you let go of the hype machine some of us may have created you will find out how special he truly is. He has his flaws also and I am quick to bring that up and admit that to keep the human factor intact. But word for word, if you are talking about lyricism not many are on his level. And I listen to a lot of rappers. If you allow it he will grow on you and when he does.....its over.
Just my 2 cent.
