| Lakeview was aight. (from what I saw, I couldn't really feel where Sam was coming from on that one. I admit I missed part of the beginning but why he had on such a hate for whiteboy is beyond me.
Notorious is good but not great.
HUstle & Flow is pretty good.
I still haven't seen ATL but I heard it's supposed to be good.

| Only one I've seen is Notorious, and I agree with Hazardous' opinion. It's good, but not great. That dude did do a good job as Biggie though (at least I thought).
And bumping your own thread after only 8 minutes is lame!

| Lakeview Terrace was an average movie, 3 stars. The rest of those movies I rate at 4 stars. | |

Hustle & Flow ATL Notorious Lakeview Terrace Hustle & Flow - Overrated, but the best out of the list. I'd say see it. ATL - I fell asleep watching it, don't know if I was just tired but it didn't really get my attention Notorious - Not bad. Rushed, like Biggie's life. You can tell Diddy was involved, trying to make his part of the story look good behind the scenes. You should watch it. Lakeview Terrace - It's a decent action/suspense flick. If you have absolutely nothing else to watch, go ahead. I wouldn't spend money on it though. Download if you can.

Your wife got screwed over but that has nothing to do with ole boy. Maybe I'll rent one of these days and see that part for myself.

| Peterson his wife cheated with a white dude.
I really digged Lake View, I thought is was a pretty original movie. Maybe because I wasn't expecting anything.
Hustle & Flow- average. Worth checking out but do not expect much.
ATL- this one is good. May be the best out of all of them.
Notorious- enjoyable. Mys said it right good nothing great.

| I think the writers should've done more research on the topic of black-on-white stalking and stalking in general.
Most stalkers don't start victimizing others unless something in their own life is seriously out of whack. Usually when folks start stalking like that their personal lives are on the verge of collapse. They also need a lot of time too. Dude is a cop with a partner and his buddy hasn't tried to talk him down yet. Most folks spill their guts eventually spending that much time with someone. If you draw a lot of attention or confront a stalker in a public they usually back off unless they planned that to happen. Stalkers usually work under a bully mentality and want a target they can run over.
More research was needed for a realistic scenario. A cop has enough sense to not involve others in his dirt albeit for him to do so is not completely implausible.
A lot of stalkers are smug and arrogant too because deep down they think they are smarter than everybody else.

| Also most racially motivated harassment directed at interracial couples are crimes of opportunity especially if it's perpetrated by an individual. | |

| Ah Peterson great way to suck the fun out of a MOVIE. You know its make believe right? I think you look to deep into something as simple as a just a good plot. Also his life was in shambles and he wanted to make someone else life miserable also. Especially someone who reps what caused his pain. And he was arrogant. Did you really watch this movie? | |

| I wasn't feelin Lakeview much at all personally. It's the weakest of the four mentioned IMO.
I'd rank them like this
Hustle & Flow Notorious ATL Lakeview Terrace

| Notorious-I thought this movie has some very good performances in it...the best ones by Derek Luke as Diddy and Angela Bassett as Volletta Wallace (Biggie's mom)..for any hip-hop fan this movie is a must see...
Hustle And Flow-a good independent effort by Craig Brewer about that Memphis styled hip-hop...another must see flick for any hip-hop fan...Ludacris was classic in this flick as Skinny Black....lol
ATL-a cute movie...I thought it had a decent story line...but the main reason I watched the flick was to look at Lauren London....lol
Lakeview Terrace-Samuel Jackson plays an out of control, controlling cop basically.....who runs his neighborhood....this flick was just an alright effort...nothing special though!

Hustle & Flow Notorious ATL
All 3 are decent efforts IMO but nothing to rush to see.

Hate to be a killjoy Kev, but with the amount of talent in that film it fell flat for me. I've seen the flick once and not in entirety.
This type of harassment at this level of severity is rare. Factor in race and the fact it's perpetuated by an individual makes it even rarer. Most hatemongers haven't the energy to keep it at that fever pitch unless they know their victims. Also it's male-on-male harassment too.
Maybe another reason I didn't give as much a chance from the get go was I found the scenario hard to believe for all these reasons.
From a practical standpoint I would to read or see some case studies related to black-on-white harassment/stalking/violence in general especially when it comes interracial dating.
I've only seen one story like that in years and it was a mob attack. A poor white guy was attacked by some black dudes for dating a black girl. It was a crime of opportunity by a group. The Father of the white guy wanted them charged with the hate crime statute.

The guy who played Biggie did an excellent job, as did Angela Bassett playing Biggie's Mom (she's one of my fav actresses). Definitely a must see for any hip-hop fan.

Also I have a couple more I want your opinions on.
The Temptations (The Temptations Story) The Defiant Ones
I seen the latter, but I want your opinion on it.

| Never saw The Defiant Ones, but I have seen the Temptations. Good movie but hella long. ABC had it as a mini series much like the Jacksons movie, and VH1 airs it from time to time. It's a very good movie, but unless you have a high attention span you may end up watching it in intervals. | |
