You seemed to make a huge point that RA is not in BDK's class, so I figured maybe we should choose a more popular recent emcee for the comparison. Or are you saying that like RA, Lupe isn't even in BDK's class?

Lupe isn't in BDK's class, and you know good and damn well that the majority of this forum agrees. But you're just doing this to create another bash Lupe session, as if the Lasers thread wasn't enough for you.

I'd say Kane vs G Rap would be a GREAT thread. Lupe vs Phonte would make for a better thread, since neither is particularly popular in here.

Kane vs. G Rap has been done to death... and I'd say Lupe and LB are pretty popular here.

Kane vs G Rap was done once in a verses thread, Lupe isn't all that popular here, and LB is mildly popular here at best.

My point is, matchups should be done based on styles and/or fanbases. That makes more sense.

Lupe is easily the most popular young "lyrical" rapper so it makes sense to compare him to BDK.

Whether or not Lupe is the most popular lyrical rapper overall is debatable, but he clearly isn't all that popular here. He'd lose in a poll to Kanye in this forum, and Kanye's nowhere near as good lyrically.

I'm a big Lupe fan, but he shouldn't be compared to legends until he becomes one himself. I feel that way about everyone who's yet to reach that status.

This. I can't hardly stand to hear Kanye rap half the time. But he is one of my favorite producers in hip-hop.

Lupe vs Phonte would be a good one. I know we did a Lupe vs. Vakill already.

I have no problem with this thread. I vote BDK. I'm not a Lupe hater, or a BDK stan.

I don't like Lupe or BDK too much. They are both dope lyrically. Kane has the legendary status, and Lupe has the edge in the conscious rap department. Idunno its a push for me.

Lupe gets love here. I like him quite a bit. Some users just rank him too high IMO.

Fuck it I'll justify myself lol. I like Rakim, BDP, Beastie Boys, Kool G Rap, and even Kane (I'm just not a huge fan of his) among others.

BDK Vs. Rakim would be a more appropriate match up. But then again, I'm not up on Lupe's material.
