Yep, you're forgetting perhaps the two most important hip-hop inspired movies...Wild Style and Krush Groove.

Naw I remebered them just haven't seen them in a loong time. I like all of the above better. You can put them on your list though.

The music is great, but in all honesty Krush Groove is a pretty terrible movie.

Wildstyle is pretty cool, a piece of legend. I also liked Poetic Justice, but my favorite back in the days was Boyz In The Hood.

I agree that they are overrated, but it wasn't just professional reviews. It was also feedback i got from friends and shit who had seen it.

Some of these picks are funny to me. I mean, is any movie with primarily a black cast, set in a city, considered to be inspired by hip-hop? That's the exact attitude that prevents Hollywood from viewing black actors as interchangeable with white actors.

He is not crazy, he is correct, the majority of these movies even if they just have a hip hop soundtrack aren't. Is Wynonie Harris hip hop because he was black? I know you get what he means K. Rob...the movies in question have to be centered around the elements.

I can see the case being made for Higher Learning falling in the "not inspired by hip-hop" category. But, on the flip side, I can also see how people consider it to be...John Singleton.

Ah, it did say inspired. While all the movies mentioned may not be inspired by hip-hop, they certainly are influenced by it in one way or another. Maybe K.Rob just used the wrong word?

I know I did my list using movies in which hip-hop was a big influence, not necessarily the focal point.

if i had to choose one Menace II Society is my favorite

i also would like to mention "The Wash" since no one has yet. Its by no means a "good" movie but its one of the most entertaining movies and i could watch that shit all day

See this is what I mean by sucking the fun out of simple shit. The inner city and things of that nature inspired hip hop and vice versa.
