| He's stuck in a mainstream bubble, if he was like D-Train over on amazon, he'd have more respect for what is still coming out. Now, I don't expect Ghost to have to go digging for what used to be right in his face, but he's generalizing with only radio/club albums to back him up. | |

| As usual, Powell ignores the question. We all decide for ourselves what's dope or not. Romped is always bringing new artists & albums to the table. Most of it I don't care for, but now & then something stands out to me.
I actually think you'd dig that Mistah FAB mixtape, Powell. I'm sure you'll just run your ignorant mouth and never bother with it, though.
When was the last time you contributed new music to the forum, Powell?

Yeah you're definitely right here. That's the impression I got when he was discussing new artists. I agree with him from that standpoint. Of course I think there are new artists making nice shit today. I don't think he was saying that they don't exist, but was referring to the new artists getting all the fame and fortune nowadays. Like it or not the people getting money are going to be dictating most of the trends in hip hop, and I think that is what Ghost is worried about (as am I).

| Naw man dope rappers got some fame just as much as the fly night fast food rappers. And the dope rapper to whack rapper ratio was off the scale. So we tolerated those type of rappers more.
Anyway,
I feel where Ghost is coming from. He's speaking from a str8 mainstream point of view. I know it must be frustrating to be putting out all this dope music and it gets basically ignored like you are the rookie to the game or some shit. Also when you know better its hard to swallow watching something you luv go down the toliet or even passing you by to a degree.

the point was addressed you just refuse to see it, that's all......it makes a bunch of sense what I said and what Ghost is saying as well.....but you only want to hear what yourself and Pedro and D Train (???) thinks....and say that Ghostface Killah-the legend, one of the founding members of the Wu-Tang Clan, which is easily one of the greatest (if not the GOAT) group/outfit in hip-hop history has an opinion on HIP-HOP music that is totally off base..... Hey Romped, ......I think I'll respect Ghost's opinion over Romped.....no disrespect of course....lol

| This whole discussion is pointless, because Ghost isn't talking about all of the hip-hop today... regardless of what he's saying. He is over-exaggerating to make a point. Powell is defending him literally, only because he lacks insight, common sense, and fundamental communication skills. Also, Powell is eager to have his own point of view reaffirmed by a legend.
I have seen Ghost, on video, cosign at least a few current underground acts.

I have seen Ghost, on video, cosign at least a few current underground acts. No one ever said he was talking about ALL of hip-hop today stupid....but he is addressing the state of hip-hop overall as it stands today..... but now I'm going to pose to you a valid question lil leonard....why is it that everytime I'm having a discussion with someone else you feel the need to add your 2 cents?? you are never on my mind in any capacity which is why I rarely even address you anymore on here for fear of destroying you once again and I'm kinda sick of picking on the weak and feeble, so normally I have conversations with others who may actually have something to talk about and aren't trying to appear intelligent when the only thing on their feeble mind is a dog who died in 1998...lol...hey Parker for the last time please my dude GET OFF OF POWELL'S DICK.....you accuse KJ of being on it when in actuality it's you who wants a view and that is some gay shit mane....I've been married happily for 7 years so I'm good mane.......go ride someone else's dick who may give you a shot to suck it to completion....

I just noticed what Parker just said right here.....yo man I've been telling you dudes for a minute that Parker is sick man...he saying that even though Ghost is saying something out of his mouth as plain as day right here that he didn't mean one word of it??
"regardless of what he's saying"??? so regardless of what your saying most of the time Parker we can attribute a majority of it to you being one slow and feeble fuck head right??
you really think your a college professor man....you think your "knowledge" level is above others on here and in hip-hop world as well...even though you claim to be a "hip-hop fan"??.....you babysit kids for a living almost like a male nanny or a stay at home "dad", but yet you have the "knowledge" to build rocketships and tell others that they don't really mean any of the words coming out of their own mouths??? yo Parker you are one bullshit motherfucker mane...LMAO...your funny, and your clueless all at once.....stop that shit dipstick and go learn something...do your fuckin homework on this beautiful culture that your Geneva living ass has only a small clue about....lol...your new name is Sam Kinison...your screaming a bunch but ain't said shit...lol...what up Sam??

| Powell, if you read my entire post, and then reread until you actually understand the entire entry... you'll see that I can with validity say that he is overstating his point.
As for the rest of your baloney... well it is just not true that I comment on every discussion you're involved in, is it?
The rest of your nonsense is, once again, just some fabricated fantasies you've dreamt up about me that aren't at all grounded in reality. Somehow these imaginations make you feel better when I call you on your retarded communication habits. Really no bearing on the conversation, though... true to form.

| I thought that Ghost gave a pretty balanced and honest answer. I agree that the game is saturated with cookie cutter "hit" makers with no heart in their music but as I have said before (much to Powell's dismay), Hip Hop is going places where it never dreamed of before. It's cool to be proud of the "golden days", as Ghost puts it, but being stuck there is a different story. To say that nothing is better than Slick Rick, KRS, and Kane, though, is just asinine. That's like saying the Model T Ford is the greatest car ever because it was the first. I enjoy all those mentioned and others from the 80s but even Ghost himself is better than all those cats, IMO. One thing that I agree fully with is what he said about DJs. They barely exist as far as I am concerned and all they do is make playlists of mindless, Jersey Shore, fist pump, faggot ass garbage. However, it is understandable when you think of why...$$$$$$$.

Umm Wandy he was saying that there is NOTHING better than the golden ages IN HIS OPINION...what is asinine about that?? I think it's asinine for you to think that his opinion on it is asinine....he never ever mentioned that because it was first that it was better he seemed to be giving his answer on what he heard as quality...not once during that video did I hear him mention anything about it's better because it was first.....not sure what your hearing Wandy...please clarify!

| that's true Pedro to a point.....but Ghost throughout his career has always been known as a "pure" or even underground emcee....he's one of the few that has been in the game for over 20 years that the "sell-out" label does not seem to apply to in my opinion! I would say a dude like Masta Ace or Monch are some of the others that this same concept could be applied to as well in my opinion! | |

| I'm not calling him a sell out. And I agree with him on his point that the new rappers aren't (for the most part only the mainstream ones) paying dues like old school artists did.
That said, if he's complaining about something I don't feel he has a foot to stand on. He released an "r&b inspired" album right after Drake blew up with the R&b hip-hop shit, it just all seems like the pot calling the kettle black to me.

| I didn't hear him say anything about these new artists not "paying dues"...I did hear him say that these new artists don't know hip-hop's history, that their beats were stale, that they have no soul, he said that the Golden Era could not be beat in his opinion, he said that these new artists are coming up with simple concepts and that there is a bunch of simple minded people listening and loving this new shit, I heard him say that these hip-hop Dj's are getting money and playing a bunch of that new "cookie cutter" shit which is hurting the game....I heard him say that these new artists need to be taught how to put on a hip-hop show, these are some of things that I heard Ghost talking about...and I do agree with him 1000%....
I never heard him say anything about new artists need to "pay dues" or that because his era was first that automatically makes it better...I never heard him say any of that stuff man...

ALL YOU FUCKING DO IS POST OPINIONS ON OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS YOU FUCKING HYPOCRITE!!! If doing so is no longer acceptable then you may as well leave this forum. And to clarify for your non-reading-comprehension ass...the Model T was the first car (kinda) just as those aforementioned 80s rappers were some of the first of the rap game. Someone can sentimentally have affection for the Model T but to say that it is technologically or fundamentally "better" than even a Civic is retarded. However, there is more of a finite method to comparing cars. Comparing music inevitably comes down to the listener's taste, so in that respect, I would have to say that you are correct...I gave my opinion on his opinion. And, no, he never said that he liked the "golden era" because it was first. You see how I can have a fair and balanced response like a well-educated human being?

| When he was talking about the live shows he was talking about how when they came up they paid dues and learned how to put on a show that way, so to me that is him saying new artists aren't paying proper dues and therefore don't know how to put on a live show. The whole clip is him basically complaining how things were better in the past. | |

Wand basically said that if you no longer find it acceptable for someone to give their opinion on someone else's opinion, then you might as well leave the forum. I mean, that is the whole premise of this forum. Discuss hip-hop music, give your opinion on it, and others do the same. It's inevitable that someone will have an opinion on another person's opinion. Nobody said they wanted you to leave. But, if you NEED someone to say it...fine. I want you to leave.
