Haven't heard all of Kill or Reachin but i do prefer Esham to Digable. We'll see.

I've been meaning to check out this Esham, just dl'd it now. Digable's always been kind anti-climactic to me...a lot of promise but no payoff.

Digable Planets. That is the only Esham album I've heard, and it wasn't really my bag...Reachin' is classic or near classic IMO.

I'm gonna go ahead and throw in a vot for Esham. It is clearly a more entertaining album. Kevin, I'm not sure why you're so sure you wouldn't like this. It sounds like it would fit comfortably within your tastes. More so than Reachin, I'd say.

You don't know my taste mofo. Esham can't really rap well to me and I was late getting on him solo wise. Only exposure I had to him in real time was one Natas album I had and that souded like shit. Younger me hearing Esham back then may sing a different tune but older me going back trying to dig it did not work.

As far as that Digable Planet album I owned that since it 1st dropped and its in my top 100 easily. While back then I did prefer hardcore over most I still had a soft spot for certain other music.

That's fine... the sound on this album reminds me a lot of a lot of the videos you post and albums you rec from the genre and time period... mofo.

Now thats true. Thats why I stated what I stated. I grew up with that stuff but not Esham. Who knows if I would have just recently heard some of the stuff I luv from back then now I may not like a lot of it either.

Parker stay away from Natas...far away.

Well, I mostly check everythin out before I buy. As long as we have been discussing this rap thing, hardly any of us really do get recs right. About the only guy I would buy blind off of is trotter.

That has nothing to do with anything. I like what he likes, that doesn't mean I haven't listened to damn near all of your favorite albums and can't associate those sounds to you when I hear them. You're not even making sense.

I never really heard a lot from NATAS...are they similar to Swollen Members, or were you just providing examples of how your taste is out there? Because if they are similar I'll be checking them out for sure.

No, not similar at all. SM was just an example of how my taste is out there. But, there's no harm in downloading and peeping. Do it up!

I actually think Esham was better as a rapper back in his early days than he is now. Just my 2 cents though - he seemed to fit in with the older production better.

Esham, like most rappers to me, was better in his early days
