Nappy Roots

They barely make my top 100. IMO, their first two albums are essential listening. I personally prefer Watermelon, Chicken, and Grits more, but it's not by much. This is a great group that doesn't get nearly the credit they deserve. If you haven't listened to them, do yourself a favor, and do so.

Yeah if CunnLyn makes top 100 than Nappy makes it for me because I think they are betta on most levels except maybe production. They took the Goodie and Kast influence and added their spin to it.

yeah, i heard a lot of people compare them to Kast which is true to a certain extent, but i always felt the Goodie Mob comparison was more appropriate.

My local fellas. You know they make my top 100. The only hip hop act to ever really make it out of Ky. Their first 2 albums are favorites of mine. Ran into these guys at a Waffle House around 2 am one night and they invited me and my friends to join them. They sat and talked with us for about an hour. Cool group of guys.

SMH @ local. It's just like you Louisville guys to try to latch yourself on to them. You guys try to latch on to Cincinnati too. They don't belong to you. They belong to Bowling Green. Get your own identity. LOL! But seriously, they are a really humble group of guys. I got to meet them after a show in Nashville, and they seemed to be appreciative of every single fan.

top 100, WC&G is easily on my top 25 favorite albums of any genre.

wow, calling them better than cunnlynguists? not even close any way shape or form.

I put Field Mob in before Nappy Roots - but nappy roots go in as well... both better than boring CL.

I'm gonna put them in my Top 100. I've enjoyed all three of their albums.

Terry, you got a problem with a Louisville guy? LOL, just kidding, but yeah maybe we do latch ourselves onto things but what are we supposed to do? We have no pro sports teams so we go to Cincy which is an hour away. Yeah Nappy are from Bowling Green but they used to be in Louisville and surrounding counties all the time so they count as local too.

My Bengals suck, Kentucky Football is average, and Kentucky Basketball has been down but it's coming back with Coach Cal here. Let me have Nappy Roots as local man!
