Best Album 1995 Round 3: The Infamous vs. Me Against The World (B)

When I saw this match I knew there will be blood. Two evenly matched albums quality wise and classic status wise.

I'm going with Pac, that album is in my top 5 of all time. The Mobb Deep is in my top 15-20.

Mobb Deep...because of my blatant East Coast bias.

Westside because 2Pac and the Westside dissed em harder.

WOW.....another classic match-up and IMO the best effort from both parties....

I honestly think it's a push......I'm trying to think of a winner here???

I guess I'll go with Pac because his subject matter was deeper also his emotion on this effort is unmatched, but the production and lyrics side goes to Prodigy and Havoc IMO...

The Infamous, but not in a blowout against Pac's best album.

I completely agree with this answer, although I wouldn't say the production is THAT much better on The Infamous, I would say overall it's more consistent and definitely more thematic.

Prod more lyrical than Pac on MATW. I'm not seeing it.

I don't see it either, but when you start dividing 'lyricism' into abstract categories it's easy to lose your point in semantics.

Damn, I wish this could have been a final four matchup, these are my 2nd and 3rd fav albums of 95 respectively.

Mobb Deep wins but I'm good either way. The winner of this matchup will get my vote throughout this bracket.

And Prodigy IS more lyrical than 2Pac. I'd give Pac the edge in terms of being a more total package MC, but Prodigy wins the lyrical catagory by a good amount.

IMO Prodigy was more lyrical than Pac was on basically everything he ever made but Pac is winning here because that emotional factor is just too much to fuck with....songs like Dear Mama, Death Around The Corner, Can U Get Away, Temptations, It Ain't Eazy, So Many Tears, I mean those are absolutely brilliant songs man....and the reasons why I picked Pac over Mobb here....but Prodigy on Shook Ones, Survival Of The Fittest, Eye For An Eye, Drink The Pain Away, Q.U. I hear that Powell I know we see lyrical a little different. I really just do not see it seeming to be such an easy choice. Its all in the wording, if you would have said Prod is equal to Pac lyrically or "may be better" I would have said nothing.
