Just spun this on spotify. Don't know why really, saw on article on how Blakroc 2 is not coming out so I figured I'd peep this. Not bad... short... production was cool, if not necessarily very distinctive. Sort of the laid back rockish grooves I've heard from similar collaborations....Jay-z aka NOE was straight, none of the songs really stood out as real bangers though it feels that's what they were going for. Probably give this a 3 or 3.5.

I thought this was a complete let down in every way imaginable. I gave it away to somebody who probably gave it away to somebody.

Yeah I was pretty disappointed by it too. I remembered I did really like that Jim Jones and Mos Def song though...

I guess I had no expectations for this album so I can't say I was dissapointed. It wasn't necessarily bad to me, just uninspired and average.

I'm a big Black Keys fan, so I was really anticipating this album. And like you said, it was very average. Nothing really stood out.

the Rza and Pharoahe Monch track is a classic, and the Raekwon track is close, other than that average

I thought the album was pretty dope. The production is ill (especially "Stay Off the Fuckin Flowers" that beat is nasty) and the line-up is pretty cool. Jim Jones actually didn't suck which was weird/cool. The Mos, Rae, and RZA & Monch joints are nice. NOE does sound just like Jay-Z, but he can rhyme too, just needs to get his own style. I didn't care much for the Blakroc version of "Coochie" though. The original's production was way better, but overall the album is a 3.75/5 for me.

The line-up for Blakroc 2 looked awesome. I'm pretty bummed it's not coming out.
