Nappy.Org

To be honest, i wasn't really interested in hearing this due to mixed reviews, but i copped it at Best Buy yesterday for $9.99. It's really a nice cd. Aside from Goodie or Kast, Nappy Roots seem like the next best thing for Organized Noize production. I'm not sure if these are older ON beats similar to Nineteen ninety Now or if they are new beats. Either way, they are very nice IMO. Lyrically, we already know what we are going to get, and it really is a good marriage between ON and NR. It has an almost natural/organic sound to it. I'd highly recommend the album to NR and/or Dungeon Family fans. I'll say it's around 4.25 after two spins.

I only spun it once... don't really have a rating for it... probably not as high as yours though... Ill spin it again this week.

It's good but after the brilliance that was "The Pursuit of Nappyness" I'm a little let down. "Nappyness" was an amazing record with a bunch of no-name producers who somehow managed to nail EXACTLY the sound Nappy needed. ONP does their thing but there seems to be a little disconnect. I'm in the 3 to 3.5 range for this record. Lyrically they're not doing anything different than they ever have and it isn't nearly as memorable as their last.

LOL, then so be it. The album is still 4 stars to me which is down a little from the 4.25. I really like ON's production on here, and it's typical Nappy Roots on the mic.

At least he kept the children out of it this time. So he's becoming a little more civil.

I'm with Kevin on this one. I won't give up to quick, I don't want to believe how much I dislike this album so far. Nappy Roots is easily one of my favorite groups of all time in any genre. I'm just perplexed by this one.
