This is my 3rd or 4th fav Jay album. I go back and worth between it and Reasonable Doubt for that 3rd spot. Jay has 4 classics in my book.

IMO he only has two, Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint that are 5 stars. This album is about 5th for me, maybe 4th on a good day but it's still a very solid 4.5 stars.

This is my 2nd favorite Jay-Z album. Reasonable Doubt is my first. Vol. 2 would come 3rd, I guess, since that's the p.o.s. that made me not want to check anything he's released since.

While I like Vol 2 personally, it definitely doesn't rank among his best work. If you liked Vol 1, I'm certain that you'd like The Blueprint, The Black Album, and American Gangster.

I really think that KJ, Powell, Wayne, and possibly Kevin are all missing out on an album they would like with this one.

I've never been the biggest Slug fan. I might check it out sometime, but I'm in no rush to do so. I like Ant as a producer, but Slug is nothing special on the mic IMO.

I doubt it very very much. I would suggest KJ, Powell, Wayne, and Kevin all avoid the Overcast! album. If they are interested in Atmosphere, get a mid-era album like Sevens Travels or You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having or Strictly Leakage. All those albums have way better beats and Slug's flow got way better....along with his writing.

I think the old school vibe would get it over. Seven's Travels would be undermined by those few industrial-type beats in the middle of the album.

Don't have the Atmosphere, no vote. (only reason I have the Jay-Z digitally, is that somebody gave me the file...never listened to it).
