Razzy by the amount of albums I've listened to since 1998 vs the amount Powell's listened to.

I honestly have to believe you know nothing about this album, Slang. At least give it a listen... you'll be surprised.

Behind The Front is a real solid album. I think it's more consistent than Rasassination. But, I think the high points on Ras are higher than BEP.
I'm voting Rasassination, by a tad.

Behind the Front is still some boring ass bullshit IMO, Parker. Just because it's not Fergie singing doesn't make it any less wack.

airhgt i will listen to it, you caught me, but Razzy is a top 10, if not top 3-5 MC for me, hard to touch anything he did from 1992-2002...

"Did you read what I said? There are a few that can come off. You just asked for Swarm & Till My Casket Drops to be added. But did you really just say remove El Nino & Good Bad Ugly? GTFOH. Stick to overhyping the albums you are use too."
Kev your a fuckin' genius when referring to our boy Sally Moe man, thanks for that quote above.....let's add overhyped emcees to that equation as well.....Ras Kass is a top 10 emcee of all-time?? maybe even top 3-5 of ALL-TIME??? I know that's your opinion Sally but
Razzy would be LUCKY to even be mentioned in the top 40 emcees of all-time mayne.....he's lacking in so many areas it's not even funny....he's got some really good lyrics....his flow is legit...wordplay above average...his voice is kinda lame (IMO)...his discography is average as a whole......his production is kinda lame.....he's kinda boring on the mic (IMO), his influence on other emcees seems to be low (I haven't heard a bunch of peers of his say they were influenced by Ras Kass) there's not much memorable to Ras when your talking about putting him amongst the greatest emcees of all-time IN MY OPINION....to even be in the top 50 emcees of all-time IN MY OPINION you had to do way more than Ras to affect the game....to be memorable.....if it's just about lyrics then Canibus is in there too...shit IMO he's better than Ras....so is MF Doom as well IMO and a bunch of others....I just had to say something when I saw you mentioning Ras as a top 10 emcee of all-time mayne....

his voice is my fav part about Razzy. Anyway, listen to anything he did from 93-97, absolute golden and that 4 year period alone is enough to put him in my top 5, really..., you probably havent even heard anything from that era besides Soul On Ice
funny you mention MF Doom, another one in my top 10...
Its all about opinions mayne and who you prefer to listen to
and i dont care about impact on the game when it comes to rating the MCs i like to listen to most

I've heard Soul On Ice and Rasassination and to me it's nowhere near enough to make him a top 10 emcee of all-time again IN MY OPINION....oh and I've heard pieces of Adidas.....
rec me some more Ras mayne......

the stuff i was referring to was the stuff before and up to Soul On Ice along with his freestyles and loose tracks the year after before Rasassination. 93 - 97 era of Ras Kass is >>>>>
stuff like the
Soul On Ice DEMO Soul On Ice Wont Catch Me Runnin 12" Jack Frost 12" All his guest appearances from this era (Wake Up Show, other Freestyles, appearances on Xzibit's album, Chino XL's album, tons of freestyles from this period and other loose tracks that are hard to track down...) Rasassination can also be included
also keep in mind the quality of alot of that stuff isnt great, for example the demo is straight basement style, but thats one of its appeals to me
after that era he has tons of classic tracks many have never heard...
if you can find these albums or the tracks from these albums get them...
Van Gogh (with the correct tracklisting) Goldyn Child (with the correct tracklisting) Catch Me If You Can (not the song but the tape) Razzy Kazzy --> Bootleg internet album with ESSENTIAL Razzy songs, a classic mix in my book The Re-Up Compilation is also dope from this intermediary period
all of that shit is better than anything he done since including Institutionalized, Revenge of the Spit, Eat or Die, Quarterly, and even ADIDAS IMO but all those releases are still dope. Also i haven't heard the Chinese Graffiti album
heres just some of the classic material i am referring to:

As far as not hearing a ton of rappers he's influenced, Powell, try to remember that you're not exactly the one to stay up on what's new in hip-hop this last decade. I definitely hear Ras' style coming from other emcees... Vakill would be a prominent example.

as far as me staying up on whats new in hip-hop this last decade.....well because of being on this forum the past 3 years plus I've kept up quite nicely and BOUGHT a ton of new shit....I've just not even once since being involved with this have taken a rec from you....so I guess because of that you and lil jeffrey (another whom I've never taken a rec from) think that I wasn't up to speed with newer hip-hop but the only word for those stupid thoughts is FAIL.......sorry leonard, nice try though......

You don't like jazzy hip hop. Ras Kass is the one that's boring. He's lyrical but doesn't stand out from the pack. His production is sub-par and doesn't have many verses that make me hit the playback button.

nah I'm just telling the truth just like you thought you were.....I've PURCHASED a bunch of material from a bunch of recs from this forum...I would say that Pounds has given me the most recs that I actually liked over the last 3 plus years....but I've taken and BOUGHT a bunch of stuff rec'ed to me by Pedro, Shaun, Sal, Buggin' Out, KJ, Kev, Highsmith, Vernon, white Steve, Lounge, Fred, Jason, Tranny (on the r&b tip), Terry, and a few others but I told you that ever since I saw your top 10 emcees of all-time, that you could forget about it....and jeffrey has never really struck me as a hip-hop fan....so you 2 bimbo's got put into the I'm not fuckin' with anything hip-hop related group....no conflict just my opinion on the way I see things thats all....I think it's actually you who got insulted as usual....lol

Black Eyed Peas EASILY. Easily their best album. That Ras Kass album has never been all that IMO....no Rass Kass album has. The BEP is damn near classic if not classic.

Indeed, KJ. I agree.
I would guess those that most of those bashing the BEP debut have not heard it.
