| This is a crime. You guys are making me dislike Blackstar and its not thier fault you are how you are. I just do not hear the overall great in that album. Its a good album but mainly only due to the lyricism and style. But beat wise?...lol. | |

| I love that Goodie Mob album but this is where their votes end for me. Black Star, but not by a lot. | |

The Blackstar album to me is a classic, the Goodie Mob album isn't IMO. I rarely spin Still Standing. I have Black Ice and a few other songs from it on my iPod but the only classic album that GM is Soul Food. Whereas I spin the hell out of Black Star. It just has more classic tunes and is more consistent to me.

Bad beats? I disagree. I like Hi-Tek and J. Rawls' contributions. Personally the albums are very close in quality IMO. I could see it going either way.

| Still Standing is a classic to me. It's not as good as "Soul Food", but it's still classic IMO. | |

Its not Soul Food but its just as good as Soul Food for its on reasons. I like how they switched things up. I think that Goodie went over you ehad lyrically. Kujo and Gipp are on some other shit on that album. You damn near need to decode their bars. And Cee Lo is just beastly for the whole album. Its trumps Blackstar fairly easily.

There are some real nice beats on that album but imo none compare to the beats on Still Standing. At least SS is losing to a worthy album I guess.

I like Still Standing, I have it at about 4.25-4.5 stars but the Blackstar album is 5 stars and has lines that make me hit the playback button. I see what you mean about Kujo and Gipp. They actually were better on SS than they were on Soul Food. But Soul Food has better overall production IMO as does Black Star. They didn't go over my head lyrically, they just tweaked their style a bit. All that said, Blackstar trumps it IMO. Mos Def was on another level on that album. Kweli was dope too, but Mos was in complete beast mode.

| I bet they went over your head lyrically. They went over mine too especially Kujo during that 2nd half of the album. | |

| Not really, I've heard more complex metaphors in the past. I was definitely impressed though. I'll spin the album again sometime. | |

Oh yeah okay well what did Kujo mean when he said on the song Still Standing: "Backseat drivers havin out-of-body experience, Wakin up, somewhere else"
