Not really. They had a few songs I digged but I heard two of their albums and they were forgettable.

If you have any affinity for that style of hip hop, Balance and Swollen Members other classic album (IMO) Bad Dreams is definitely worth a d/l at the very least.

Absolutely. I can see the comparison of Balance to Dilated Peoples, at least in the way it sounds. But they have moved away from that over the years. Balance is my favorite album of theirs, with Bad Dreams coming in a close 2nd...but I do love 'em all. Even Armed To The Teeth, which was a disappointment to me. I don't mean it's a bad album, just that overall, it's not as dope as the others.

But, if you're unfamiliar with their body of work, Balance and Bad Dreams represent their best efforts in my (and several others') opinion(s). No shame in trying.

I don't think you'll fall in love with them, Kev, but I do think you'll be surprised.

This is off of a different album, Powell, but it's the closest thing to something you'd enjoy by them, probably.

I finally played this in full and I must say I am impressed. The rappers have an distinct delivery and the production is real nice. It has a DJ Muggs feel to it at times which is a plus. The 1st song is a good example of how to start an album off. I like it enough to venture farther so that other album you rec'ed will be my next dl.

I don't see myself playing it much but it will fit nicely into my here and there album rotations.

Yeah I didn't think you'd love it or anything but I definitely think it's better than anything Dilated Peoples has ever done. After Bad Dreams their sound starts to get really poppy so I don't know if you would like anything after that but Balance and Bad Dreams are definitely worth some spins.

Cool that you enjoyed it, K. Rob. I agree with everything Jeff has said so far. I enjoy their "poppy" sounding songs too, so of course I'm extremely biased. I guess I'm an S&M dickrider.
