| Until you answer his question, you're sidestepping. All he asked about was a specific production technique. | |

Cory I love ya dawg, but what's the point of being more "complex" and your not even good??
just adding different elements on hip-hop production and it makes no fuckin sense...lol
that ain't hip-hop man! Thats what im saying man, it doesnt matter. I dont know if NERO is trying to attack legends here because im not sure what either of you are trying to accomplish. im looking at complex meaning something like "a conceptual whole made up of complicated and related parts" swizz has a lot of shit going on in his beats. i hate dudes production but yeah someone could say his beats are more complex then Pete Rock. To that all i would say is, so fuckin what doesnt mean his beats come off better or are more effective |

and he equated that "technique" to being more "complicated and complex" and then proceeded to throw out the name of SWIZZ BEATS...lol I'm still struggling with that Jason..lol..sorry man!

| Utilizing multiple tempos withing a single song is a more complex technique than a single tempo throughout a song. There's nothing to struggle with about that, if you know what complexity is. It doesn't mean Swizz Beats is better than Primo, or that the song is better than whatever, he's simply asking about a technique, and whether it was used by those guys, before Swizz Beats used it.
You're ridiculous. You're pathologically unable to concede any point that, in your mind, gives any ground to current Hip-Hop, on any issue at all, even if no one is arguing that current Hip-Hop is superior. That's what you're struggling with.

That's what you're struggling with. no your ridiculous to think that it couldn't have been done before by the MASTERS, I think the reason they didn't do it is because they thought it was WACK....maybe that's why Jason, they knew that Silver Jews was trying it in their approaches and said to themselves THAT'S NOT HIP-HOP...so we're not fucking with it...we want to keep the music PURE! Anything that ain't hip-hop isn't being used...

This is the hip-hop forum Jason...I think your looking for the rock and roll or music community! Of course not, it doesn't fit your little frame of reference, can't be Hip-Hop. Who fucking cares if I listen to rock, and other genres. That hurts my Hip-Hop credibility? Bullshit, Hip-Hop artists and producers don't just listen to Hip-Hop. KRS-One borrowed from fucking Billy Joel on "The Bridge Is Over". De La Soul sampled Johnny Cash. Hip-Hop lives with other genres of music.

| Powell, you'd seriously rather have the same boring ass monotone flows with little to no experimentation?
The same people complaining about the state of hip hop are the same people that have been complaining for almost 10 years now. Powell is just pissed because hip hop PROGRESSED, TO SURVIVE but clearly the culture he "loves" so much he'd rather have stayed the way it was 20 FUCKING YEARS AGO and died out. Powell is saying the same shit rich white men in suits are saying...they want hip hop to be a kitchsy fad that never accomplished anything instead of invading the mainstream the way it is. I'm not saying the shit is "BETTER" powell i'm saying it's "EVOLVED" and you refuse to acknowledge the meaning of words. Discussion: OVER. |

Any good Hip-Hop producer has to be, and most good rappers are as well.

| That's not the point at all.
What you're doing right now is the same tactic Fox News uses, instead of actually addressing the issue they make it about some bullshit that has nothing to do with the actual argument itself. Regardless of whether he is more talented than Primo (which I feel he isn't) he has IMPROVED upon production techniques and certainly made sizable contributions to the production game. He has helped EVOLVED hip hop so it could survive. You have no idea how to conduct a debate, Powell. |
