im looking at complex meaning something like "a conceptual whole made up of complicated and related parts" swizz has a lot of shit going on in his beats. i hate dudes production but yeah someone could say his beats are more complex then Pete Rock. To that all i would say is, so fuckin what doesnt mean his beats come off better or are more effective

Utilizing multiple tempos withing a single song is a more complex technique than a single tempo throughout a song. There's nothing to struggle with about that, if you know what complexity is. It doesn't mean Swizz Beats is better than Primo, or that the song is better than whatever, he's simply asking about a technique, and whether it was used by those guys, before Swizz Beats used it.

Powell is just pissed because hip hop PROGRESSED, TO SURVIVE but clearly the culture he "loves" so much he'd rather have stayed the way it was 20 FUCKING YEARS AGO and died out. Powell is saying the same shit rich white men in suits are saying...they want hip hop to be a kitchsy fad that never accomplished anything instead of invading the mainstream the way it is. Exactly, they're huge music listeners, across the board. Any good Hip-Hop producer has to be, and most good rappers are as well.

Regardless of whether he is more talented than Primo (which I feel he isn't) he has IMPROVED upon production techniques and certainly made sizable contributions to the production game. He has helped EVOLVED hip hop so it could survive. You have no idea how to conduct a debate, Powell.
