| Boyz N the Hood Higher Learning Rosewood Poetic Justice Baby Boy (it felt incomplete as far as Jody's development) Four Brothers (parts were cliche and the copy I watched was messed up) 2 Fast 2 Furious (just okay)
I honestly I think most everybody's list will look the same.

| hmm top three for John Singleton who is another great black director are:
Boyz-N-The-Hood-(his magnum opus...just a great storyline and great acting here even by Ice Cube who stole more than a few scenes)
Higher Learning-(this one also had a great storyline and Cube stealing some more great scenes, but the ending was as deep as any movie I've ever seen)
Baby Boy-(a CLASSIC hood flick, to say this movie kept it "real" is an understatement, some great Snoop scenes in this one too) John seems to be able to bring out the best on the acting tip from emcees..lol

Him and spike run neck and neck for me, I know spike has the longer resume but singleton has more of my fav movies. |

Singleton's movies tend to have more replay value, and IMO, Boyz N The Hood is the best movie between them. However, Spike is a much better directer IMO

| I think Singleton is better than Spike because he's more consistent.
For every two great Spike movies, he's also released a dud. The only Singleton dud was 2 Fast 2 Furious.
Boyz N The Hood is definitely the best movie between them. Rosewood was an excellent film as well. I think some underrate it because it wasn't a high budget film, but it's definitely 5 stars. |
