Swollen Members - Armed To The Teeth

Man, this album was a let down. For every dope song on the album, there was a whack one. "Bollywood Chick", "Flyest", and "Pornstar" were some of the garbage tracks that stood out easily (Tech N9ne saves Bollywood Chick lol!). "Kyla" and "Funeral March" were pretty good as well as guest appearances from Everlast and Talib. But, Swollen could have done much better. Also, the Moka Only feature on Red Dragon was dope (he produced the song as well). IMO, that was one of the best tracks on the album. I don't know if Swollen wanted to mock commercial music fodder or attempt to fuse with it, but this album needs some work. I give it about a 2.75/5. Thoughts?

I JUST started d/ling this dude!!! The song with Slaine/Everlast was dope too IMO, but wasn't Black Magic a similarly poppy album?

Yeah. It was. I don't know why they are making albums including songs like that. I was thinking they were making fun of the commercial genre, but I guess they are really trying to mesh with the industry to get more exposure.

Every MC has that "pop" track(s) to test the waters, but geez.....

i havent heard a Swollen Members album in full since "Heavy" actually, but there first 2 albums will always be dope

Black Magic was dope. Nothing poppy about it IMO... but I had no interest in this
