| So what, y'all born in 76 or whatever? That means you were 18-20 when they dropped their shit. Which means you were too old. They belong to the people who grew up on their music, and y'all can have y'alls crusty ass 80's, we don't want 'em. |

| I'm only kidding about the 80's, just trying to get a rise out of them. And I'm 28, but Powell and KJ seem to think that 5 or 6 years means I'm a different generation. |

| SMH, you're not THAT MUCH younger than me, but you act like it because you hate on the old school and that's lame. It's funny how Shaun, the YOUNGEST poster on the forum, has more respect for the old school than most cats here in their mid to late 20's, and certain cats with a bias towards Western and Southern gangsta rap.
Back in the 80's when hip-hop was starting out, you had mad classics coming out every year, nowadays you're lucky if you get one or two per year.
Also, you had those MC's along with Slick Rick, De La Soul, ATCQ, NWA, LL, G Rap, MC Lyte, Beastie Boys, and the like on mainstream radio. Today's mainstream radio features Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy, Souljah Boi, and the like. You have a few good artists on the radio like Eminem and T.I. but for every one of those you've got ten wack MC's
Therefore.......
80's>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>00's

LOL, I posted my reply prior to reading this. I never said you were a different generation, but you act like it with the way you talk about the old school. |

Please tell me you don't honestly believe in that bullshit. Not specifically, but there is quite a bit of inexplicable anthropologic phenomena. And, with technology growing exponentially, even the human race is nearly capable of creating life. Again, I wouldn't say I believe in it, but it is interesting to entertain the idea. And, its really the only theory that's even close to viable in explain a lot of ancient technology.

| The only viable theory to explain a lot of ancient technology is that humans invented it, since there's not a single solid shred of evidence of anything else. | |

| The pyramids are easy to explain, huh? Well, you're alone in that. The pros are stumped...
And, the map of Antarctica's land mass is a complete mystery...
And, I never said what I believed. The fact is that these things, and many more, are currently inexplicable.

| I minored in Anthropology because I'm intrigued by the subject, just not by outlandish, completely unsupported theories used to fill in the blanks. And these things aren't inexplicable.

| I'm not offended, just disappointed at a clearly intelligent person's lack of common sense. How did you get so smart? Me, I don't have time to research stuff that I only have a basic grasp of. Somehow, you're an astronomist, physicist, historian, archealogist, etc? I doubt it brother. Take the scientists at their word. They've gotten us this far, haven't they? |

| Alright. What if everyone took flat-Earth scientists at their word? Information is always fringe until its established. Every idea that you believe and take for granted was, at one time, considered outlandish and quite impossible. | |

| The current system of science means that ideas are constantly under peer review, and while it's not impossible that a legit challenge can come from outside the recognized community, it would have to have a very strong evidentiary basis, which this doesn't.
One thing I look at is whether the proponents of these theories focus on trying to poke holes and find gaps in accepted theories (and usually these attempts aren't even legitimate), or whether they present positive evidence that actually points toward their alternative idea. If they only do the former, their idea is not supportable. Intelligent design proponents are one clear example of this, they offer pseudo-scientific challenges to evolutionary theory while presenting zero testable hypotheses that would support ID, yet they want their ideas taught as science.

| The building of the pyramids is not a flat earth idea.
The only basis for that argument is an idea at it's infancy. Basically those kind of remarks are spouted by people who pretend to be skeptical, but in reality are entirely too naive. Since the advent of "modern science" only ideas on the other end of the knowledge spectrum (if you will, the least developed technologies, newer physics proposals, etc) could be considered at the "flat earth" stage. Being open minded in terms of elementary scientific ideas is vastly over-rated. |

What are you looking for? Seriously? This is JUST like the people who say that velcro and compact discs were found on a spaceship inside Area 51. People invented that shit, so it's there. What more do you want? It's not like there's some secret city with a super computer that has a hologram of beyond the known universe. |

| Explain Machu Picchu, and how those constructions were made without laser technology. Explain how a European mapmaker was aware of a land mass 10,000 years under ice hundreds of years before modern technology affirmed.
There are no explanations. So, yes, alien intervention is as good an option as any.
