Slum Village - Villa Manifesto - Comes Out Tomorrow!!

I heard the samples off of Amazon, and this album sounds dope! I never heard of producer Young RJ, but he laced Slum with some heat on this album. There is a Dilla produced joint and feature as well. Here is the link to the samples:

Anybody else checking for this? Also, there wasn't enough promotion for this album at all, and I doubt that Best Buy or FYE will have this in stock tomorrow. That sucks because this CD won't sell well at all first week.

Young RJ is one half of the duo producer tandem B.R. Gunna. The other half is Black Milk. If you bumped later Slum Village albums, than you've heard Young RJ's beats before.

This has been on my wish list for a minute now, chances are I'm ordering it online though because even if they do have it in stores, it's going to be over $15.

That's true. Amazon doesn't even have it on sale yet. It's still 16.98. Hopefully tomorrow it will drop. The album definitely bangs from start to finish. E1 didn't even promote this one properly.

Just bought my copy from Best Buy. I can't believe they had 2 copies. If anyone goes to Bestbuy, make sure to get it in the Rock/R&B section.

Yeah, I did pay that much. I was pissed that it wasn't on sale, but I wanted the album lol. That price reminds me of the days when CDs used to be high as hell. E1 did a terrible job with marketing for this album as well as distribution.

I just copped this and Rakaa "Crown of Thorns" on blowitoutahere for $24 and change. Not bad, can't wait until I get these joints in the mail.

Damn. That's good pricing right there. I need to check that website out. Been bangin' the SV album ever since I bought it earlier. One of the best to come out this year.

Man, you'll definitely dig this. Baatin came back strong like he never left (RIP Baatin). Elzhi was definitely a strong point on the album though. I hope they have more recorded material leftover. Even though Baatin passed, they could still drop more material.

Come on Harris, Faster and Um Um are the same type of tracks you'd be dissing big time had fat joe dropped them...lol

LOL! I understand what you mean SRP, but I guess I'm a little bias because it's SV. I haven't delved into a full critique of the album, but Um Um and Faster aren't really my cup of tea.

At least SV pulls it off better than Fat Joe lol.

Amazon has it from a 3rd party seller (new) for 15.54 with shipping. I should have waited, but I was anticipating this release.

Maybe FYE will have it for 9.99, I'll check this weekend.

The album is very solid and the production is dope so SV fans should check it out.

This is a good album, but it's definitely not worth the price right now. I may cop it once the price drops.

In the interview Elzhi did with HipHopSite, he said that there was very little leftover, and what material is leftover are songs that were cut because he was too prominently featured or verses T3 cut and then replaced with himself.

they are supposed to appear tomorrow at Record Time in Ferndale to promote their album but with all of the beef that seems to be going on it will be interesting if both T3 and Elzhi are there. If i have time ill go...

Solid album, but man, them taking out Elzhi on all but two songs just makes me mad as fuck. They did Elzhi dirty on this album. I bump Slum Village for two reasons, one is for dope beats, which this one has. The second reason is to hear Elzhi spit. I don't want to hear wack ass Illa J ruin songs by his wack ass verses. His verse on Reunion pt 2 was fucking terrible, the fuck is he spitting about? T3 was cool on the album, he's gotten a lot better.

They took his verse out of Reunion pt. 2, and he didn't even know they shot a video for it....

I listen to the album again man, but I could've swore his was on more than to tracks. I know he was on "Faster", "Um,Um", and "The Set Up".

I'll look at the credits again when I get home, but I'm pretty sure he's only on two tracks. He even tells you at the end of the album that he's only on two tracks.
