1991 is definitely one of the best years in hip-hop history. If you asked me to do this list again tommorrow, I'd probably give you a different one except for TLET, that will forever be my top album of 91.

Seagram's Soul On Ice has no business on a GOAT list, yet it's your number one album of all time. Black Sheep has EVERY RIGHT on a Top 5 1991 list, maybe if you spun the album more than twice in your lifetime you'd see that. But you're narrow minded as hell so I doubt that'll happen. And fuck you Shaun for co-signing SRP's ignorance. |

| So I have an album that has no business as a GOAT as my GOAT and I am also narrow minded? Either I am one or the other KJ. Either I am so open minded that I ignore the norm or I am narrow minded. 1991 has way to much heat and it is ridiculous for you to exclude De La Soul on your list, but include native tongue bench warmers on your list. |

You're not even a Native Tounges fan so shut the fuck up. All you do is bitch about my taste and picks when yours is as suspect as Prince's sexual orientation. De La Soul Is Dead is a fav of mine too, if your ignorant ass could read you'd see that I said that if asked to do another list, it might be different with the exception of my #1 album. That Black Sheep album is a straight banger and still holds up to this day. |

| I've stated my opinion and why KJ and remains the same no matter what curse words and names and comparisons you can hurl my way. Notice I haven't called you out of your name or said anything about your overall tastes. That's all in your head.
I saw a pick that surprised me, I commented on it. If you have your own insecurities, that's on you. |

| KJ, You were literally the third person to post on this thread. It was not personal at all. I said nothing about ATCQ because I can see why someone would choose them even if I don't dig them as much.
Kev's top 5 is west coast skewed, but all his west coast picks I can see as classics, at least on the west.
I was just commenting on that one pick, was not trying to single you out or anything. |

| Ok fair enough. I think A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing is definitely a classic though. People just sleep on that album because Black Sheep never released another album on that level again. But they'll always be remembered for this joint. Not a single wack track or verse on that album.
I think a crazier pick was Kev picking A Taste Of Chocolate for 1990, that's a 4 star album at best. |

Maybe you should revisit that album sometime Highsmith. There's nothing flawed about it at all. I'm not surprised that people are criticizing this pick, but it's whatever. I love the album. It seems that when I pick albums everyone knows about I get criticized for being "too safe". Then when I go outside the box people say that my pick is crazy. Damned if you don't, damned if you do. Whatever though, I'm gonna keep it 100% regardless of what people think. |

| Most of the time, I agree with your picks KJ. For me personally, when I first heard the Black Sheep I wanted to take it back to the store. However, with the many spins I gave the CD it eventually grew on me and I would say it's 4-4.25 stars IMO. | |

LOL, it's funny how he loves that CD, but doesn't care for Long Live The Kane which is a far better album. As for landing chicks, Smooth Operator can do that better than any track on ATOC. I haven't peeped the Dres CD as of yet, can't find it in stores. Do you have a link? |

Man please. LET is not a shoe in for album of that year. It has much much comp. Yes it does have much competition. I remember many a time GOAT albums are listed LET is routinely in folks top 5. Kev if we were to put it to a vote right now, who do you think it would be given to? 4serious(zoolander face) When 94 comes around don't be shocked if folks say Illmatic was album of the year. I think these discussions are good for bringing out the best candidates if we were going to break it down to the top 5 nominees. Face, Cube, ATCQ would definitely be on the list. | |
