He shouldn't have beaten Biggie I agree, but then again that matchup happened too early. Overall though, this tourney has gone better than I expected. Every member of the Elite 8 is in my Top 20. |

The only one I see getting eliminated is Jay out of those three, and even that's not a given. Nas/Rakim should have been the finals. |

Nas/Rakim should have been the finals. Rakim will make it to the finals most likely. And that first statement isn't my opinion, just my prediction.

| My guess is that the final two will be Rakim and 3000. I'll admit that I am a big Outkast stan so I'm quite biased. Nas could possibly be there too though. It's gonna be really tough from now on. | |

Three Stacks could still lose to Em since that vote is now tied. If nobody votes by the time Kev closes that poll the declared votes will determine who advances there. |

| If it were all up to me, it'd be Nas/Cube in the finals with Nas winning.
But I get the feeling it'll be a Pac/Face finals with Face winning. We'll see though. |

It looks like Nas will be matched up against Rakim, and IMO, there is no contest. Nas trumps Rakim in virtually every category.

Nas is so far ahead of everything Rakim established. Nas' is infinitely more poetic. He's a better story teller. He's more creative. he makes better, more complete, more original albums. His delivery is better. The only thing Ra may have on Nas is flow, but that's debatable. Only blind old school stans would feel otherwise.

Only blind old school stans would feel otherwise. YOU need to get the fuck outta here with that bullshit!!! Rakim is a living legend. I honestly don't think you've truly taken time to listen to the man to understand how dope he truly is. You talk about him like he's a second rate MC, when that bullshit couldn't be further from the truth. Rakim was ahead of his time when he dropped and the shit that he dropped even back then is doper than the vast majority of shit that's dropped since. There's a reason why he's called the God MC. Rakim Allah's place among the all time great can NEVER be questioned. As for his comparision to Nas, I feel they are close in many areas. If Nas is better overall it ain't by much. Rakim has at least 3 classic albums, some would argue 4. Some would say Nas only has one, although in my opinion he has 4. It's crazy though, not until this forum have I ever heard so much Rakim hatred. And don't give me that East Coast or Old School stan bullshit, because I know people nationwide that love Rakim's music. The man is a lyrical beast and anyone who can't see that is insane. I've heard you say that your biggest issue with Rakim is his lack of subject matter. Well, listen to Let The Rhythm Hit Em and Don't Sweat The Technique again sometime, even the 18th Letter. Those albums contain PLENTY of subject matter. In closing, while the man may not be among your favs. To say that he's not of the all time greatest lyricists is complete and total ignorance. |

In closing, while the man may not be among your favs. To say that he's not of the all time greatest lyricists is complete and total ignorance. See, you were so concerned with defending Ra(even though he wasn't attacked) that you basically ignored everything i said. You don't directly acknowledge anything i said. You merely skim over it cause you have no reasonable rebuttal. What area does Rakim have an advantage over Nas? It's a simple question. You've already acknowledged Nas has more classics. You've already acknowledged that Nas has your favorite album between the two artists. So is Rakim more creative than Nas? Does Ra have a better delivery than Nas. Is Rakim a better story teller? Does Ra have a better flow? Is Rakim more poetic? Does Rakim have more classic songs? Like i said, Nas is winning in virtually every category(except flow). Show me where i am showing hatred to Rakim. Show me where i said Rakim wasn't a lyrical beast. Show me where i said he doesn't belong among the all time greats.

I was defending him because you made it seem like he wasn't even comparable to Nas, and I disagree with that entirely. Nas does have my favorite album between the two (and my fav album of all time for that matter) but Paid In Full is in my Top 5. I'd say that Rakim has the edge when it comes to flow, delivery, and a mild edge when it comes to classic songs. Nas has the edge in storytelling ability, creativity, and a mild edge when it comes to discography When it comes to straight up lyricism/poetry I'd say it's a draw. Overall I give it to Nas, but it's very close. They are 2nd and 3rd respectively on my GOAT list. If Rakim were matched up against anyone else remaining in the tournament though I'd vote for him. |

Nah, i didn't mean for it to come across like that. I think Rakim is close in most categories, but i think Nas is winning every category except flow.
