Reks - Rhythmatic Eternal King Supreme

I've spun this a couple of times already and I like this quite a bit. Probably the first really good hip hop album I've heard this year (still haven't listened to K-Rino or Raekwon, but I'm getting to them). The standout tracks for me are The Underdog and Like A Star. Right now I'm giving this 4.25 stars. It's not Grey Hairs but it's better than More Grey Hairs in my opinion. Anyone else listened to this yet?

This wasn't at Best Buy...

My copy was supposed to be delivered today so i will probably spin it later tonight.

Lovin it. Honestly its a contender for top 3 this year with Raekwon for me. This feels like one of those albums you will appreciate with more spins and more time. Man so far 2011 is a helluva year. I really have only heard one suspect album...I see you Lupe.

Yeah this is the best I've heard, I finally listened to the Rae and while I like it I don't think it is that impressive...a lot of the good tracks fly by and there are some weak tracks like Rock N Roll, I don't think it is as good as OB4CL2. So, I think it is good but not on the level of this album. Also, I really have had no desire to listen to Gutter Rainbows again, it's really not that good to me. So to me, this album is leading by a large margin (I haven't listened to Alien Baby yet so I'll get on that).

This album is seriously ill...co-sign the 2011 love.

I got it at 4.25 right now but it could go up. It didn't grab me on the first listen like "Grey Hairs" did but i'm on spin 5 or 6 right now and it's really growing on me. Still can't really get into "Limelight" but other than that, dope album.

Hiphopdx really took shots at the 2 tracks produced by Hi Tek but i'm really digging both of them. Sometimes i don't know what these reviewers are talking about.

I thought The Wonder Years was just ok, but i really liked U Know. For the most part, Hi-Tek has been disappointing for most of the past few years.

Not a great album, imo. After a few spins I hear mostly poor production, or at least production not for Reks. Corny hooks abound. I'm not one to blindly support a dope emcee. A subpar album from Reks is far worse than a subpar album from Lupe.

Yeah Limelight is one of the weaker trks not whack to me but it doesn't really add anything to the album.

And I agree wih Hi-Tek being kinda average to weak these past few yrs. But than again I was never that impressed by his beats anyway.

Listening to this on Spotify now. I will definitely add this to my ...To be purchased list.

I don't know, this album just didn't sound too well thought out to me.

I loved this album. 4.25 stars easily for me. Maybe 4.5 on a good day.

4 stars for this one and 4.5 for "Grey Hairs". Dammit Wayne, we all told you to check these out a long time ago. I don't know what we're going to do with you, lol.
