Bass Guitar help

I'm looking into buying a bass guitar decent enough for recording purposes.

Would that be good? I mean, it seems relatively cheap for what it includes. That concerns me a bit because what if it's a piece of rubbish? I don't want something that I will have to replace a snapped string after every use. But I don't want to spend a shit ton of money either. But the reviews are pretty good, that is a somewhat relief.

If anyone who is experienced with bass guitars are on here know if this would be a good or bad investment let me know.
Also, feel free to post links to other basses that you would rather get than this, if any.
