Terry, how is that Pat? I have hated pretty much everything since Layin Da Smack Down, save for a few songs here and there. He just lost his grimey edge to me after being the clown on Hollyhood...

Chamber Music bored the shit out of me personally. All the skits on the album really took away from it. Wu-Massacre is dope and maybe on par with Legendary Weapons objectively but as of right now, LW has more replay value IMO.

| Now I definitely agree with the fact that the skits took away from the album. My rating is based on the actual songs from the album. Legendary Weapons has the title track and 225 Rounds to me as the best tracks and the rest are pretty good. If you take the actual 8 to 9 tracks from Chamber Music, I just feel they are on a higher quality than the best moments of Legendary Weapons. Wu Massacre was short but overall I put that a little under Chamber Music and a little over Legendary Weapons....but that's just my opinion. | |

| Copped Legendary Weapons on Friday, still gotta give it a spin.
Recent spins:
Ariano- Music 2 Breakup 2 (Emo hip hop, dope to me)
Tanya Morgan- Brooklynati (Sounds better now than when I first copped it. Still a little too much skip songs for me to bump on the regular. Hardcore Gentlemen>>>>)
Classified- Self Explanatory (Dope, dope, dope...it's a shame only me & Pedro bump this dude (from what I seen))
Asheru and Blue Black of the Unspoken Heard- Soon Come (Top 20 album in my book...B Boy music at its finest)
Chief Kamachi- The Clock Of Destiny (Not my favorite from him, but far from wack. Solid all around)
Mos Def- The Ecstatic (On some the songs it just sounds like he half assed it, had potential to be a great album...smh)
The Roots- Do You Want More (Black Thought>>>>>>>>>>)
Wu-Syndicate- Syndicate (Where Was Heaven is a dope fucking song....album was jamming too)
Buck 65- Situation (Shit, I slept on this dude for too long...really dope, surprising stuff here)

| Spins:
Pete Rock/Smif N Wessun - Monumental This is becoming one of my favorites of 2011. I was pleasantly surprised upon first listen and it just gets better. All of the features add well to the album too.
Jeru The Damaja - The Sun Rises in the East In case you didn't read the Rate the Album thread, this was my first experience with this album. I'm glad I finally spun it, it's dope.
Pimp-C - Still Pimpin If you are a fan of Pimp then you will like this album. Pretty much what you would expect from him with some pretty helpful features and a dope Fuck Faces sample. I like it slightly better than his last album.
Trae the Truth - Street King There are some bangers on this joint as well as some poo poo. Overall its had pretty good replay value, tho. Inkredible Remix with Rick Ross and Jadakiss is fire.
Shabazz Palaces - Black Up I think Tran will love this album but I also think that most of the forum will dig it. Smooth production and lyricism throughout make this album really enjoyable.
J. Period/Q-Tip - The (Abstract) Remixes A really cool compilation of remixes with some fun and interesting back stories from the Abstract himself. Any Tribe or Q-Tip fan will enjoy this.
Jadakiss - I Love You No thank you.
Curren$y - The Jet Files This was just re-released from a few years ago. If it was new for this year it would crack my top 10 probably...Just Enjoy This Shit...JETS fool...

| My brother got Legendary Weapons... from what I heard it sounds pretty generic. I didn't really give it my full attention though, and I will eventually. That's just my first impression.
Finally got Armor of God today. After 3 non-stop spins (had some miles to cover) I would call this album a monstrosity of dopeness. Brutal, plain and simple.

Yeah, I copped this the first day it came out. It's Seattle hip hop, of course I'm all over it...lol. Pedro created a thread on it, I highly, highly doubt the majority of the posters on here would dig it....way too out there for their steez. Sounds nothing like Digital Planet. I can dig it, but honestly, I enjoyed the EPs more. Ish & crew took the music to outerspace with the new joint, beats were way too abstract on at least half the songs. Lyrically, Ish was doing his thang though.

- Sweet James Jones Story- Pimp C (waaaay betta than this recent shit)
Definitely. That was his best solo. But I am diggin this Still Pimpin. The features all hold it down and it has much better production than Naked Soul, IMO. Plus it has some classic Pimp-C disrespectful, take no shit, eat a bowl of dicks, sing-a-long choruses on it that I enjoy...for example, Watch The Reaction, Get Down, Fuck Boy, Notes On Leases. Now that I think about it, I think I like Still Pimpin more than Pimpalation too. Edit: And SJJS is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bun B's entire solo career. Edit#2: Pimp makes better songs but Bun is the better rapper.
