Lupe Fiasco

Alot of it depends on what his next album sounds like but i went ahead and voted top 100. "Food & Liquor" is just what the mainstream industry needed when it came out and "The Cool" i have at 4.5 so it's a great album too.

Lupe is another one that rounds out my top 100, he's already done enough IMO to warrant selection towards the back end of getting in...

Lupe is not top 100 to me. He's released two really good albums, and by some, Food and Liquor is considered a classic. Regardless, i just don't spin either of his albums enough to consider him top 100.

anyone voting lupe in top 100 is crazy and has tunnel vision. especially you dudes who have been listening for a while, how many dudes dropped a couple of albums with mainstream buzz then fell off the planet like lupe is in the process of doing? tons, tons, tons. no way he gets in.

O.C. has been pretty dope as an emcee but just hasn't done enough in the impact/influence and hits dept to be a top 100 of hip-hop act...lyricist?? maybe but as an overall artist he's LACKING!

How so powell? Half the people in your beloved Juice crew suck dick, and none of them are making noise today, are they buddy. O.C. has numerous DITC albums, guest appearances, and his own albums which are ACTUAL hiphop classics, and 4 other very good albums. He was part of one of the biggest movements out of NYC and was one of the leaders of a very dope crew. What has your boy lupe done on that end baby bubba?

lol Lupe Fiasco is definitely not top 100. Hes a pretty good rapper, nothing mind blowing. Both of his albums are good (4-4.5) but doesnt get him in the top 100.

I feel like older heads like Powell and KJ have a certain fondness toward people like Little Brother, Lupe, and Game, neither of which should make the top 100

Neither, personally. I like his albums and he's a really good MC but he's not personally a top 100 for me.

Budden album was not bad at all just not that good to me. His voice and flow is not my speed.

Ahh, I think people don't realize an mc's voice is an instrument. Sometimes it can make an mc unlistenable no matter how dope they are.

He's released 2 great albums, he's a great lyricist, good flow, good musical sense. He's one of the best Hip-Hop artists to emerge post-2000. I expect he'll be top 50 down the road, right now top 100.

And you clearly haven't listened to K-Rino if you think Lupe is more creative than him. There are at least 3 songs songs on EVERY Rino album that are more creative than both of Lupe's albums combined.

really? The love Lupe gets really bothers me for some reason. he's not wack or anything, but he seems to be somewhat of mainstream creation who was made out to be the intelligent MC, but he's still "safe" enough for consumption. There are plenty of underground MC's doing it better than him, but they don't have the mainstream hype machine behind them.
