Also heard this today via Spotify. This is pretty good if you ask me. I didn't listen to Overly Dedicated so this is the first time I've heard this guy. His voice is kinda weak but I got used to it over the course of the album. The production on this thing is top notch if you ask me. Some boring beats occasionally, but overall I was impressed. Kendrick seems to be pretty versatile and can do slow, mid-tempo, and fast flows. This album seems like it is a concept album, and I did catch some recurring themes but I think I'll need to listen to it again to fully understand where he was going with it. But I honestly didn't hear a bad song on here, although a couple were uninteresting. I don't think this is a classic, but I can see why it is looked at as one of the better releases of this year. It's certainly a strong debut album, and it seems like he will only get better with maturity. I'll give it 4 stars.

I'd give this around a 3.5 (spun it 3 times). I think I said somewhere else that the first 7 or 8 tracks are weak to me, except the first two. Terrible hooks throughout, but the production is really good. After track 9 or 10, every song is dope. My favorites are Rigamortus, HiiiPower, Poe Man's Dreams, Fuck Your Ethnicity, and Ab-Souls Outro

I got this at a 3.75 or so after 2 listens. I agree that his voice is wak and his delivery is very average. But he has dope lyrics and good song structure. Some of the hooks are suspect but the album has a consistant vibe/theme so thats cool.

I got the album at 4 stars. I remember at first that I said I was disappointed but the more I listened to it I liked it a lot more and understand what he was going for with this album.
Fav. Tracks: Kush & Corinthians, Poe Man Dreams (Love the Gil Scott sample), Hol Up, Keisha's Song, Ab-Souls Outro, HiiPower, Rigamortis

I listened to this again last night. This is slowly but surely moving up my rankings from last year. I can play this from beginning to end as well as his Kendrick Lamar EP.

I just got finished listening to this (for the first time), and at first, I wasn't feeling him, mostly because of his voice, but after listening to it all the way through, I like this a lot, and I'm anticipating his debut album in October.

This album is amazing and Kendrick is like no other. I will admit that the only reason I bought this album a few weeks after it came out last year was because it was only 8 bucks on iTunes. I didn't know what to expect from it, and didn't listen to it all the way through until about a month after purchase. I love this album, every song has a deep message within. Kendrick writes dope, spits dope, and the voice has even grown on me. It's a relief to see someone like this guy in the limelight. Section.80 gets 5 stars from me.

This may shock everybody but I like this one. Out of all the young niggaz gaining momentum he's one Im feeling. His voice is weak but unique. But his childisn fanbase is overrating him.

Give the youngin's a break, Trotter, they are just excited to have a legitimate emcee with mainstream potential to root for, lol. I think KL is pretty dope. He's got kind of a funny voice and accent but the flow is real nice. Section.80 is probably a 4.0 for me. Blow My High is my fuckin joint.
