The original from the GREAT Patrice Rushen and the sample from Zhane...although I like the original better that one from Zhane is a strong interpretation......more CLASSIC r&b music!

the perfect match of CLASSIC r&b (1988) and brand new (2012) hip-hop.....thanks to GUY (Teddy Riley on production) and NaS.....GUY's debut 1988 album is perfection...a must own.....

bringing things a little more up to date....here's some classic r&b released after 2000...r&b has gone the way of hip-hop after 2000 in that it's much harder to find anything that resembles something classic but Lyfe Jennings and Amerie both gave the genre some hope and both are newer artists doing this.....props to both of them......

from the new to the old today.........Glenn Lewis is another one of the newer jacks keeping this genre of music alive after 2000.....here is one of his newer "classic" neo soul joints off his debut album and this single is called Never Too Late and the other one is from Club Nouveau-Heavy On My Mind off their completely classic debut from 1986......The Luniz should send this group a huge thank you note off the strength of giving them their biggest single too date I Got 5 On It, which was sampled from Club Nouveau "Why You Treat Me So Bad" off of that classic '86 debut.......

DOPE shit Murderghost especially that Jerry Butler man....that shit bangs!

I'm going to keep it in the 90's today with first up Faith-Reasons off of her 1995 self titled debut which alot of heads saw as her singing that one towards Biggie's direction and if you listen to the lyrics that could be right...and next off of Mary's 1992 debut the duet with K-Ci (Jodeci) If Loving You Is All I Have To Do...so much passion going on in that song because those two were dating in real life at the time and having all sorts of problems....two CLASSIC r&b moments!
