We tend to look at the Youth as rebellious, full of new ideas and that could be further from the truth. Sure there are some kids who are very innovative in their thinking with fresh new ideas but there are also 30 year old men with fresh new ideas. The youth's culture are controlled by corperations. The suit and ties know there is a lot of money to be made if the kids dance to your tune. Its very easy to get the youth ralled up and excited by a product enmasse. An adult over 25 may be too critical and ask questions. An adult over 30 hates half the shit that is popular. The youth are young don't worry about finances or health as much as the older crowd. But the thing is the youth get their money mainly from the old folks. I gave my Nephew a 100 bucks for his birth day. I wonder how much of that will go to music I wouldn't dare listen to. MOF. Ive probably bought a lot of LIl Wayne albums. The kids will lure the adults--tactics implied by the great Walt Disney himself.
In the rap world, I know these monkey-suits aren't discussion me. I'm unimportant. They care about the youth. Getting them excited to buy the album on launch day. Older folks are too busy managing their lives. Car notes, rent, mortgage, diapers, bills, work, work, and more work. But I was a kid too. On launch day I was right there to get DoggyStyle, Midnight Marauders, Tical, and the employee hadn't even opened the box to stock Hard 2 Earn when I had cash in hand ready to buy it, I remember that day.
Live and learn.
