What made that Emeritus one of the best albums of 2008? I don't hear it, I don't think it would make my top 10. |

| Kev, as big a face fan as you are i'm surprised at your criticisms of "Emeritus". Not Face's best work by any means but still a very dope album. I think it would make my top 10 for 08. | |

| Nas-Untitled vs. KRino- Blood Doctrine-Nas for me, still sleeping on Rino, "No Mercy" didn't do alot for me so i've been slow to check anything else out.
Game-LAX vs. Ice Cube- Raw Footage-Not really close, The Game.
Roots-Rising Down vs. Reks- Grey Hairs-Reks, still loving that album.
TI-Paper Trail vs. Gza- Pro Tools-hmmmmm, totally different albums, i'll take GZA.
Luda-Theater Of The Mind vs. Immortal Tech-3rd World-technique.
Grip Grand-Brokelore vs. Buckshot/9th Wonder- The Formula-Damn close, "Brokelore"
Akrobatik-Absolute Value vs. Prodigy- Product of the 80's-A to the K.
Z-Ro-Crack vs. Killer Mike- Vol. 2-Z Ro, haven't heard the Killer Mike.
Terrorists-Detonate The Landmines vs. Mighty Underdogs- Droppin Science Fiction-Underdogs, haven't heard the Terrorists
Scarface-Emeritus vs. QTip-Renaissance-favorite cuts from Face, but "Renaissance" is the more complete album.
Killah Priest/Chief Kamachi- Beautiful Minds vs. Paris- Acid Reflex-Priest/Kamachi, underrated album.
J-Live-Then What Happened vs. KRino Triple Darkness Vol. 1: Wreck Time-J-Live wins by default.

What made that Emeritus one of the best albums of 2008? I don't hear it, I don't think it would make my top 10. i just thought it was a damn good album in a very very weak year. Obviously not Face's best work...i dont even think it would make my top 5 Face solo albums but that just shows how consistent he is. Its probably around 4.25 stars for me. i liked it better than most of the other albums in this versus thread. but you left off a ton of good albums from last year imo like Jean Grae's "Jeanius", Black Milk "Tronic", eMC "The Show", DJ Muggs vs. Planet Asia "Pain Language", and the heavily underrated "Megagraffiti" by Vordul Mega, i even liked Heltah Skeltah's return "D.I.R.T." not forgetting about the 2 great EPs from last year Evidence's "The Layover" and Show & AG's "Live Hard"

I agree its dope but I think I like 10 more albums than that one if I really thought it out it may make 9-10. I got it rated at 3.75-4.0. |

| Nas-Untitled vs. KRino- Blood Doctrine- n/a "Blood Doctrine" is too expensive
Game-LAX vs. Ice Cube- Raw Footage- n/a didn't cop "Raw Footage". I dig "LAX" a lot though.
Roots-Rising Down vs. Reks- Grey Hairs- "Grey Hairs" easily
TI-Paper Trail vs. Gza- Pro Tools- n/a didn't cop "Pro Tools". "Paper Trails" is solid album.
Luda-Theater Of The Mind vs. Immortal Tech-3rd World- Luda wins in a close one.
Grip Grand-Brokelore vs. Buckshot/9th Wonder- The Formula- "Brokelore" easily. My favorite album last year.
Akrobatik-Absolute Value vs. Prodigy- Product of the 80's- n/a didn't cop Prodigy.
Z-Ro-Crack vs. Killer Mike- Vol. 2- n/a didn't cop Killer Mike. I dig "Crack" a lot though.
Terrorists-Detonate The Landmines vs. Mighty Underdogs- Droppin Science Fiction- n/a didn't cop the Terrorists. "Droppin Science Fiction" still gets spins.
Scarface-Emeritus vs. QTip-Renaissance- "Renaissance" easily. I love that album.
Killah Priest/Chief Kamachi- Beautiful Minds vs. Paris- Acid Reflex- n/a to both
J-Live-Then What Happened vs. KRino Triple Darkness Vol. 1: Wreck Time- n/a to both, again...smh

| Nas-Untitled vs. KRino- Blood Doctrine
Game-LAX vs. Ice Cube- Raw Footage- I don't know if i'm the only one on this forum that thinks this album is somthing serious but damn.
Roots-Rising Down vs. Reks- Grey Hairs- Top 3 2008 for me.
TI-Paper Trail vs. Gza- Pro Tools- but Pro Tools was good, like the production he picked this time around.
Luda-Theater Of The Mind vs. Immortal Tech-3rd World
Grip Grand-Brokelore vs. Buckshot/9th Wonder- The Formula- by a good amount.
Akrobatik-Absolute Value vs. Prodigy- Product of the 80's

| Nas-Untitled vs. KRino- Blood Doctrine K-Rino by a slim margin. Nas had one of m favorite singles though.
Game-LAX vs. Ice Cube- Raw Footage Haven't heard the Cube
Roots-Rising Down vs. Reks- Grey Hairs Roots. Reks was pretty dope too though.
TI-Paper Trail vs. Gza- Pro Tools Haven't heard Paper Trail yet, but I'm sure I'd pick Pro Tools. Dope album.
Luda-Theater Of The Mind vs. Immortal Tech-3rd World Again, I know I'd like the IT more, but I haven't heard this particular Luda album.
Grip Grand-Brokelore vs. Buckshot/9th Wonder- The Formula Grip Grand. It's not even close IMO, but it is pretty close in actuality. Brokelore was easily one of my favs of the year.
Akrobatik-Absolute Value vs. Prodigy- Product of the 80's Akrobatik easily.
Z-Ro-Crack vs. Killer Mike- Vol. 2 Haven't heard either.
Terrorists-Detonate The Landmines vs. Mighty Underdogs- Droppin Science Fiction Pretty close, but I give it to Mighty Underdogs. Headnodic in particular had some of my favorite production of the year on that album, and the rapping was on-point throughout.
Scarface-Emeritus vs. QTip-Renaissance Haven't heard the Scarface, but I dig the Tip for sure.
Killah Priest/Chief Kamachi- Beautiful Minds vs. Paris- Acid Reflex Paris, but not by a lot. Man, I gotta spin that one again...
J-Live-Then What Happened vs. KRino Triple Darkness Vol. 1: Wreck Time Going with J-Live here. Quite possibly his best album IMO.
